Chapter 2
Kryptonite Effects
It is a proven fact that different types of Kryptonite will have different effects on the Kryptonians that they are used against.
Green Kryptonite causes immediate physical pain and debilitation in super-powered Kryptonians, reduces their powers, and kills within hours.
Red Kryptonite causes psychological changes. Apathy, loses his inhibitions, becoming unpredictable and acting purely on erotic and selfish emotions.
Yellow (or Gold) Kryptonite permanently removes superpowers from Kryptonians, by destroying the ability of Kryptonian cells to process solar energy.
Blue Kryptonite heals Kryptonians from the effects of red kryptonite, suppresses their powers and removes their sensitivity to green kryptonite, and can be used to empower Kryptonians if weakened.
Black Kryptonite apparently possesses the ability to split a person or a person's personality into two separate entities, one good and one evil.
However, these effects are virtually nonexistent when used against normal humans. Or humans with an enhanced physiology.
Needless to say, that Supergirl wasn't human, and as such was affected by the close proximity of the Kryptonite, even through the thick steel doors of the vault. Mostly since the vault was not made of lead.
While the Blue Kryptonite mostly neutralized the effects of the Yellow and Green Kryptonite, the Red Kryptonite and Black Kryptonite had a more psychological effect upon the beautiful Kryptonian. One that she didn't realize right off, even as she went looking for a certain webslinger that had impressed her only a few hours ago.

It is the morning, and Peter blinked his eyes as the sunlight washed over him. He tried to move, and found that he couldn't, as something, or someone, was actually lying atop him. Looking down he saw a head of golden blond hair resting on his chest.
Immediately, he had only one thought.
Gwen? he mentally gasped, only to have the woman shift and reveal her face. He then looked over and saw a brown wig on his dresser alongside a pair of glasses. No. Not Gwen. Kara!
Looking down, Peter realized that, underneath the sheets of his bed, the pair of them were naked. And from what he was feeling...
We had sex! We actually had... oh boy! Peter gasped again, staring up at the ceiling with all his might.
Kara moved again, snuggling more into his body, a happy smile on her lips, as she rubbed her face against his athletic and bare torso.
As Peter stared up at the ceiling, he recalled what had happened yesterday.
After getting and cashing his check from The Bugle, he had decided to take the sexy-looking brunette out on a tour of the city.
The tour ended up being more of a date, which Peter didn't mind. It had been a long time since Gwen had died and Mary Jane had left him.
Peter had given Kara a tour of New York, and she had been impressed enough.
Though, much to his own horror and chagrin, Peter did the one thing he thought he'd never do: take a woman shopping!
Fortunately though, Kara had her own credit card, so Peter didn't end up buying out half the store. Not that he could, with what Jonah paid him. But Peter did suffer the 'potential' heart attack and loss of blood from a nosebleed at seeing Kara try on various swimsuits and skimpy looking outfits that hugged her shapely body like a second skin.
It was as if she was intentionally teasing him with her rather athletic super-models body, twisting and turning and parading herself around the changing room area. He wouldn't have been surprised if some passers-by noticed and took pictures with their camera phones.
Eventually though, the shopping was done. Kara had only bought a couple outfits, those that Peter swore could only enhance her stunning beauty. The pink sundress was stunning on her.
Kara was having such a good time that Peter didn't even try to wonder when his 'Parker Luck' would have kicked in and ruined everything.
Yet, for some reason. Nothing bad happened that night.
They had dinner at a local café. Nothing fancy, it was small and cozy, and Kara seemed to like it, more because it was time spent with Peter. They went to a movie, something that Kara hadn't done in a long time, which was also something Peter hadn't done in a long time either, and then went back to Peter's apartment, where the beautiful young woman had been seized by a sudden lustful sensation. She grabbed Peter, threw him on the bed, stripped herself naked (along with her brown wig and glasses) and ravaged the young man.
Peter had naturally been stunned by what she was doing to him, and would have told her to put the breaks on, only to see that something was wrong with her.
Something in her expression, her eyes, told him that she was under the influence of something.
He hadn't been able to discern it as he was making out with the gorgeous young Kryptonian, who practically tore his clothes from his body and had her way with him.
So that he wouldn't be hurt, nor hurt her by rejecting her, Peter had gone along with it.
Better to be a willing participant, than an unwilling victim. Especially when it was someone far stronger than him.
He remembered it was hot, heavy and rather long. He remember Kara twisting, writhing and gyrating her shapely body atop him, riding him for all she was worth, like a woman possessed by some kind of sex demon.
(He really hoped that wasn't the case, because he knew for a fact that such creatures did exist. Not that he'd ever encountered them himself, darn his luck!)
He remembered her calling out his name, begging him to take her, to make her his. He remembered seeing the overwhelming lust in her eyes, but something else he hadn't seen in a long time either. Desire? Affection?
Maybe he had imagined it.
But it was only now that he realized something else: while Kara was stronger than himself, it was only to a slightly greater degree. She was strong enough to have her way with him, but not enough to seriously hurt him. Which was shocking considering how he remembered her when she had faced Rhino and the other Sinister Six at OsCorps.
He looked down at Kara as she stirred from her sleep, then staring at Peter with a rather shocked look on her face. It was almost like she was... embarrassed?

Kara was sitting at the breakfast table, a humbled and quiet expression on her face as she poked at her food.
"Is something wrong, Kara?" Peter asked as he ate his own breakfast.
"I... yes, Peter, there is. I... I'm not..." she started to say.
"The jump-in-bed-with-a-guy type?" he finished for her, guessing right.
"Yeah. I'm not. I... I don't know what happened to me. I just... I couldn't control myself. I'm sorry." she apologized.
Peter was silent for a few seconds, which didn't make Kara feel any better about what happened between the two of them. She was surprised when Peter reached over and gently grabbed her hands in his own.
"Kara, let me just say this. Whatever happened last night... whether it was you or something else... I enjoyed it..." he said to her.
Of course you did. She thought sarcastically.
"And I hope you enjoyed it to." he said.
I did. I really did. She thought happily, nodding at him.
"And I know you're not that kind of person." he said to her.
How can he know that? He just met me. she thought as she finally looked him in the eye.
"Which makes me think that something was affecting you. If you want, I can try and help you figure out what it was." he said.
"You'd... do that for me?" she asked.
"Yes. I mean... if you want." he said.
"I... okay." she said with a smile.

While Peter was getting his stuff together, Kara decided to make a call to an old friend.
"Hello? Barbara Gordon speaking." the voice on the other end of her cellphone said.
"Barb? It's Kara." the Kryptonian woman said.
"Kara? Hey! How's it going? Everything alright?" the redheaded Gothamite asked.
"Sure. Why wouldn't it be?" she said, trying to sound jovial.
"Well, you never call just to shoot the breeze."
"Still don't get that expression."
"It means 'just to talk'."
"Oh. Yeah, I am calling you about... something important."
"Go on."
"I... kinda... met someone." she said.
"Really? That's great! Is he nice? Is he cute? Does he treat you right? It is a he, right?" Barbara asked.
"Yes, he's a 'he'." she laughed back to her friend. "And he is nice. He's sweet and caring and cute and he's... really good. In bed."
There was a pause on the other end and Kara had to listen intently to hear Barbara's breathing to make sure she was still there.
"You slept with him? How long have you known him?" Barbara asked.
"Uh... a day? Maybe less." Kara said sheepishly.
"Wow. Really? That's fast. I... and how was it?" Barbara asked.
"It was like... you remember what you told me, about you and... your yoga instructor?" she asked, trying to be delicate.
Kara could practically feel Barbara's eyes widen when she heard that, knowing who and what she was referring to.
"Like fireworks?" Barbara asked.
"Yeah. It was... it was great. I felt things I didn't know were possible. I..." she sighed heavily before speaking again, not quite sure how to explain it. She felt herself stutter. "Barb, I... don't know what to do. I've never been in a... relationship like this before. I... like him, but what happened last night was... I mean, I just jumped him. I practically raped him."
"Wha... Is he alright?"
"Yeah. He is. He even said he'd help me find out what happened."
"'What happened'? What do you mean?"
"Barb, you know I'm not that kind of person. I know I'm not that kind of person. But last night, I... I just couldn't help myself. I just... I think something affected me.
"Okay, let me ask you this: what exactly is he like? Alpha-male? Jock? Geeky-nerd-joker kind of guy?"
"More of a geeky-nerd joker. But... strong, athletic, experienced."
"Hmm. Okay. Second question: You said you jumped him, but did he do anything to stop you?"
"No. I think he enjoyed it." Kara said.
"Of course he did." Barbara said with mild irritation in her voice. "Okay, third question: did he put anything in your food or drinks or anything?"
"You know those drugs don't work on me." Kara huffed.
"Doesn't matter. Did he?" she asked again.
"No. I'm pretty sure whatever affected me happened before we ate anything."
"Okay. Fourth question..."
"Barbara, I know you think I'm naive, but I'm not that naive. Not after what happened with Powerboy." Kara stated.
"Powerboy was from Apokolips! That's different! This guy... what's his name?" Barbara barked, then asked in a calmer tone.
"Peter. Peter Parker." she answered.
"Really? Okay. This 'Peter' is from Earth. There's no telling what kind of person he really is underneath that nerdy-geek boy facade."
"Barbara, I'm telling you, he's not like that." Kara insisted.
"Kara, you just said that you were under the influence of something. That it made you do things you wouldn't normally do. And you jumping a guy that you barely knew, making it seem like you are the instigator, that would be something a world-class manipulator would do. I've seen it before."
"Barb, I know you're just looking out for me, but I'm pretty sure, reasonably sure, that Peter isn't like that."
"Is he a cape?" she asked.
"Yes. But he doesn't wear one." Kara said.
"Who is he?"
"I... can't tell you that."
"Kara!"
"What? I don't go around telling people who you are! Or who the Justice League are! I do have some degree of loyalty!"
"How can you be loyal to a guy who just met?"
"Because I've been with him."
"I'd say that's obvious." the redhead snarked over the phone.
"Barbara, this isn't like last time, alright?" she said with urgency in her voice, like she was trying to convince her friend to believe her.
"Okay, okay, okay. But he knows who you are, right?"
"Yes."
"Ugh! Kara... you're not making me feel any better about this."
"How do you think I feel? It's like you don't trust me!"
"When you say you were under the influence of something, and were acting like you normally don't act, what else am I to think?"
"That you're getting as paranoid as Bruce?"
"It's not paranoia when it's real! I mean do you know how many times I came close to being caught and raped by sociopaths, psychos and masked men?"
"Were any of those guy dressed up as clowns or scarecrows?" she smirked as she said that.
"Not funny, Kara."
"I'll be fine, Barbara. I'll call you later. And don't you dare tell Clark or Bruce or Diana about this. Or anyone! They'll automatically jump to the wrong conclusion and probably tear Peter's head off." Kara said.
"Fine! But you let me know the minute something important comes up."
"I will. Bye, mom!" she teased the redhead.
"Grrr-" Barbara started to growl as the line went dead.
"Everything alright?" Peter asked as he came out of the bedroom dressed in casual clothes.
"Yeah. Just an... overprotective friend." Kara said with a smile.
"Nice to have that. Anyway, shall we go?" he asked.
"Let's." she replied as she put her wig and glasses on.

Peter and Kara spent the rest of the day trying, on their own, to figure out what had happened and what might have triggered Kara's lust-fueled episode.
Without wanting to bring in any unwanted attention, 'Peter Parker' tried to figure out what might have happened to 'Kara Kent', using his own contacts at Horizon Labs, and even ESU.
Getting blood samples from Kara to analyze was a little tricky, but thanks to Curt Connors, they were able to get some blood from her.
Unfortunately, when they analyzed her blood, they discovered no abnormalities. Peter's thoughts was that whatever it was that affected her last night must have burned out of her system. Though Dr. Connors was intrigued by Kara's unique genetics, he promised to keep it a secret on 'Spider-Man's' behalf.
After exhausting all their other options, Spider-Man decided to go back to OsCorps to check out a possible lead.

The super powered pair arrived at the corporation after everyone else had already left.
The main lab where the vault was, following their fight against the Sinister Six, was still intact. Though the place was still a bit of a mess and lined with yellow tape.
They slipped in through the skylight, after Spider-Man had disabled the alarm.
"What are we doing back here?" Supergirl asked as she levitated herself to the floor.
"Whatever happened to you, must have started here. It's the only place I can think of." Spider-Man said as he looked around the lab.
"Why here?" she asked again.
"Because... I have a hunch." he replied.
"A hunch?" she questioned.
"Yes. A hunch. Mostly because I don't trust Osborn to actually not be involved in something sinister." he told her.
"Ah." she nodded.
Spider-Man looked at a nearby work station, seeing dozens of papers and pictures about different colored crystals.
"Any idea what these are?" he asked the Kryptonian heroine.
"They... no. It couldn't be!" she gasped when she saw the papers.
"What's wrong?" he asked, noticing her panicked expression.
"Kryptonite!" she gasped.
"What?"
Supergirl scanned the whole room with her x-ray vision, before stopping at the vault. She walked over to the large titanium door and unceremoniously ripped it off its hinges. Spider-Man gasped as she tore the vault door off like someone prying off a rotted wooden board nailed to a decrepit old house.
The second she did, however, she gasps and stumbles backwards, dropping the heavy vault door with a heavy 'thud'. Spider-Man caught her and pulled her back.
"Supergirl! What's wrong?" he asked.
"Kryp-ton-ite. Need... get away!" she moaned, feeling faint.
"Right." he said as he picked her up, bridal-style, and quickly bounded out of the laboratory, right before security came rushing into the lab, having been alerted to the vaults silent alarm.

(The Baxter Building, one hour later)
"Is she going to be alright?" Spider-Man asked the elastic-skinned scientist.
"Yes. Though... I've never seen such a reaction to any form of radiation. Her cellular structure is very unique." Reed Richards said as he used his laboratory equipt to preform an in-depth scan on the sexy young woman in the red and blue costume. "Almost like it is capable of absorbing all forms of radiation much more than any other person or being I've ever encountered."
"She's an alien, Reed." Spider-Man said, worried about his companion who had been unconscious since they had left OsCorps.
"And the radiation signature I'm seeing here is unlike anything I've ever encountered before." Reed said.
"She said it was Kryptonite." he said.
"Something I've only heard rumors of. I don't suppose you brought a sample with you?" he asked the webslinger.
"Didn't have time. I was trying to get her out of there before she got worse."
"How much worse are we talking?"
Suddenly, Supergirl sprang up from the table, breathing heavily as she pushed the scanning instruments out of her way, and looked around the room before setting her sights on Spider-Man.
"Need! You! Now!" she growled and threw herself at the webslinger.
"Spider-Man!" Reed gasped as Supergirl pounced on the arachnid hero.
"Don't! This happened to her before!" he said as she ripped the top half of his costume off, then pulled her own uniform off with as much hurried frenzy as possible.
"What's wrong with her?" Reed gasped seeing she was trying to strip herself naked.
"She's gone into heat! But it's stronger this time!" he said as Supergirl pulled her skirt off and then pulled his costume pants off. "Reed... you might wanna leave for a while! Like now! Till Tomorrow morning!" he said as she started licking his chest.
Reed was quick to exit his lab, realizing the situation but trusting his friend to handle it.
He just hoped they didn't destroy his lab too much.
However, the noise from the lab brought Sue Richards, who was already on her way to see her husband, running even faster.
BANG! CLANG! BOOM! CRASH! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! CRASH!
"Reed! What's going on in there?" Sue asked. "It sounds like a brawl!"
"You..." Reed started to say.
"OHHHHHHH! YES! YES! YES! YES! MORE! DON'T STOP! I NEED IT!" a young woman's voice was heard shouting from the other side of the door.
"... probably don't want to know." Reed said to his now blushing wife.
Well, at least someone's getting some around here. Sue thought to herself. "Reed?"
"Yes, Sue?"
"That's not Johnny in there with one of his girlfriends, is it?"
"No."
"Ben wouldn't do such a thing in your lab."
"No."
"Then... Spider-Man?"
"Yes. He brought in an attractive young woman who was apparently affected by some kind of radioactive crystalline element. A young alien woman he met recently. The crystal is also apparently alien in origin as well." he explained.
"Wait! Spider-Man is having sex in your lab with an alien woman he just met?" she asked in shock, punctuating each important word in that sentence.
"Yes." he said.
"And you don't think that's strange?" she asked.
"No." Reed said simply.
"You don't? Really?" she asked, confused just a bit.
"Susan, in our line of work... is that something you really need be surprised about?" he asked.
"..."
"I rest my case." Reed said as he tried to usher his wife away from his lab.
"Uh, how long are they going to be at it?" Sue asked, still hearing moaning coming from behind the door.
"Spider-Man said, come back in the morning." Reed said.
"Right." Sue said as she entangled her arm with her husbands. "Guess you're spending the night with your family then." she smiled.
"I... suppose so." he smiled.
Thank you, Spider-Man! Sue thought to the webslinger.

Ring, Ring.
"Hello? Barbara Gordon here." the redheaded computer specialist said as she answered her phone.
"Barbara, it's Kara." the voice on the other end of the phone spoke.
"Kara? Are you alright? I've been worried sick." Barbara spoke back.
"Yeah. Um... I found out what caused my... condition." she said.
"Really? What?"
"Kryptonite."
"Really? What kind?" she asked.
"Don't know. We broke into this vault that had a bunch of different colored kryptonite inside it. It started to affect me the second I tore the door off its hinges."
"A bunch, huh? Kara, are you alright?" Barbara asked. "You sound... winded."
"Yeah. I'm good. I... it happened again. And... I jumped Peter. Again. And... well, let's just say we made of mess. And a lot of noise."
"Oh boy. I should call Clark."
"No!" she quickly said. "I'll do that. But... could you have Bruce or Vic Sage look into someone called Norman Osborn for me?"
Barbara's eyebrows shot up for a couple of second before she responded.
"Norman Osborn. Okay. But are you sure you want The Question looking into this?" she asked.
"Yeah. The more paranoid the better."
"First time I heard you say that."
"This isn't a conspiracy, Barb. But there is something more to this than I thought. And I think it's targeted at Peter."
"You're still not telling me who he is, are you?" Barbara asked.
"I'll let you meet him in person first." she said, a teasing tone in her voice before she hung up.
After contacting Batman and The Question about Kara's problem, she decided to do a little detective work of her own.
"Hmm. Peter Parker. Who and what are you?" she thought as she started typing away on her computer.

Authors Notes.
After six long years, I'm Back!
Or at least, I've updated this story after six long years. And... if you will note, 6 years to the day!
Thought I wasn't going to get anything written up for this story, but I got something out. Hope it wasn't too disappointing for you. I've been so busy with my other projects over the years, that I was starting to think I wasn't going to get back to this.
Wasn't sure I was going to get anything done, not sure what direction I was going to take with this. But I decided to do it, and here it is.
And just so everyone knows, I'm not sticking with anything canonical here. Like Peter working at Horizon and The Bugle. So, just accept it as it is.
Hope everyone enjoyed it, cause I don't know where to go from here.
