I want to thank you for selecting this piece. Now if you were to actually read it that would be simply fabulous. And if you would be so kind to review it, I would even more grateful to you than I currently am. Thanks go to my editor Radiant-Shadows. So yeah, here it is.
Ryan knew this day was coming. He had known it for years, but he never dared to admit it. But now it was all so real - standing there next to the altar, next to his lover, next to Troy, the man of his dreams. He honestly didn't know what to think. He supposed he should be happy, and he was, but he was also scared beyond all belief. Everything would be so different now, so official.
But when he saw his lover, calm would overtake him, just like it had since the beginning of their relationship. Only this time it seemed more surreal, like it was simply impossible that this could be happening. He knew it was happening though, and when he saw Troy, looking handsome as always in his tux, he took in a breath and let it out. Time had been good to the boy, who matured marvelously, while still retaining his boyish smile and physique.
And time had been good to Ryan as well, even if it wasn't in the way he had planned. A broken ankle his second year at Juilliard had been tough for the former dancer, but that just meant a change of major. Now a successful actor, the boy couldn't complain. And here he was, nervous and scared beyond all belief, even though he knew today was most definitely a good day.
Just telling himself that didn't calm the butterflies in his stomach though. Everything was still, so bizarre.
"And do you, Gabriella Montez, take…" The priest droned on.
Oh yeah, Ryan thought, that's why it feels so weird. This wasn't Ryan's day. It was merely his to attend as the best friend. The best man, something Chad had been rather bitter about.
"And do you, Troy…"
What the priest said didn't matter, because Ryan knew what the answer would be at the end of his long winded question.
"Then by the power vested in me, you may break the best man's heart." Or something like that.
If you review, I'll love you forever! (Not that I don't already, just for reading it!)
