WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Divine inspiration has struck yet again. This is the last day before school resumes for me. I only have one campus class one day of the week, all the rest are purely online; but I'll still be considered a college student. I'll still be around, and I'll keep on writing and drawing, but of course I'll need some time to focus on my classes, especially on math. I'm determined to pass the class this time.

This poem here expresses how a lot of people feel. When things go bad, we often wonder where God is, how He could have allowed something like that to happen. The sad truth is, many of us are too caught up in our own personal pain to be aware of just how mindful God really is of us. The first half is told from our point of view; the other half is told from God's point of view.

O God,
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me,
When I needed you most?
Do you not truly care?
You promised
You would never forsake me
Where did you go?
Did you not hear me,
When my heart cried out to you?
Was your ear deaf?
Are you void of feeling?
Do you not see these tears on my face?
Oh, why did you leave me?
Why did you leave?

My child,
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me?
Do you not know
How much I truly care?
I promised
I would never forsake you
I was always right there
I heard you,
When you cried out in your anguish
My ear heard every word
My heart broke for you
I shed tears along with you
I never left you
Rather, you left me
