Nothing

Quietly, she let his hands caress her. The silence was harsh, his eyes were burning with desire, but hers were distant, sad. He touched her but she made no sound.

He wrapped his arms around her limp body, pulling her towards his chest, kissing her feverishly. "I'm sorry," he growled into the kiss, pulling at her hair, wishing for some type of reaction, anything. She stayed still.

"I'm sorry," he purred into her hair.

He never meant for things to end like this. He had convinced himself he didn't love her anymore, that he loved another, but it was obviously just a ploy. Maybe things would be better if he had never met her.

He clutched his heart in pain at the thought, staring down at her unblinking eyes.

"Please wake up." He touched her face again, brushing his thumb across her freckled nose. Her skin was still warm. To think only minutes ago she was here.

His eyes started to tear as he felt nothing in her. No heartbeat, nothing left. Why had she done this to herself?

Why had he done this all to her? He was so sorry, but too little, too late. Her kissed her again, crying and whimpering, but she was stiff. A lifeless doll, a shell that used to own everything he cared about and now held nothing.

His princess was gone.
