I knocked on Claire's door.

She opened it after a minute.

I stood in the hallway, not sure what to do. Stand here, or go in.

"Hi," she said after a minute.

"Hi," I said. I saw the rumpled bed behind her. "Did I wake you up?"

"No. I couldn't sleep." She paused for a minute. "Um, do you want to, um...come in?"

I did, but I shouldn't, not really, who knew what I would do if I did. "Better not," I decided. I was suprised that my voice sounded soft. It hardly ever did. "Claire, I –'' I shook my head. "I shouldn't even be here." No I shouldn't. But I was.

"Well," she said, "I'm sitting down. If you want to stand there, fine." With that she went and sat on the bed and looked at her hands.

I took two steps into the room, and said, "For the next two days, I don't want you leaving the house. Your dad already thinks we're getting you drunk and staging orgies in the hallway. Last thing I want is to send you home with fang marks in your neck. Or in a coffin" my voice turned softer. "I couldn't stand that. I really couldn't. You know that, right?"

She didn't answer, so I took a step closer. "Claire. You've got to promise me."

"I can't. I'm not some little kid. And I'm not your sister."

I laughed quietly in my throat at that. I didn't think her as my sister, I thought her as someone I cared about.

"Oh, yeah. That, I know. But I don't want to see you hurt again."

I cupped her face in my hand, and brought it up.

I brought my face down, and then my lips.

When they touched hers, she was shocked into stillness. I didn't mind, I still kissed her.

When I finally pulled back, I leant my forehead against hers, and sighed. I was filled with happiness.

Then, to my surprise, she kissed me.

I pulled her to her feet, and kept hold of her hands, lacing them together.

In that moment the sun ruled the night and the moon ruled the day. Up was down and down was up. Right was wrong and wrong was right. Nothing made sense except this...Me and Claire together. Whoa...who made me sappy?

I wanted to keep going...that was when I knew enough was enough.

I pulled back completely.

Her face was flushed, her eyes bright, and her lips were reddened and kissable.

"Ok," I said, my voice sounding slightly shaky. "That – that shouldn't have happened."

"Probably not," she said. "But I'm leaving in two days. It'd be stupid if I never even kissed you."

That was true.

This time we both just fell into the kiss. My hands were free, so I cupped her face again, and then stroked her hair, her neck, then her shoulders...

She gasped into my mouth. It sounded so delicious, and tempting.

I moaned right back at her, loving every minute of this, even though I knew it was going too far.

My hands carried on down until they reached her waist, and I stopped there, liking how they fit perfectly.

Our tongues touched then, wet, and warm. I circled my right arm around her waist, holding her closer, and then cupped the back of her head with my left.

This was kissing. Hardly any of my other dates had kissed me this thoroughly. It felt warm, and wet, and made me feel...

That was when we were going way too far. I pulled right back again, right back into the hall, where she couldn't tempt me again. "Ok, that really shouldn't have happened. And we're not going to talk about that, right? Ever?"

Was that passionate enough? I know Shanes not usually that sappy but I'm writing a novel myself called Night and that was a kissing scene for two of my characters. I'm making my own website soon so I'll post it on there :)
