Morinozuka Takashi x Kagome x Haninozuka Mitsukuni

Sniffling a yawn unsuccessfully, Higurashi Kagome leaned further into the plush leather seat of the limo, thanking her lucky stars that she no longer had to take the subway everyday. The final exams at Ouran Academy were intense, and she was thankful to have gained such great friends after stumbling into the third floor music room by mistake. Not that she would have complained, but this certainly beat being pressed against a random commuter as more and more people piled into the already packed train car.

It certainly soothed her mother's nerves, as well, to know that she would not have to worry about her daughter coming home a rumpled mess because some stranger tried to get "fresh" with the pretty girl in an expensive dress. She had not even bothered to tell her how many eyes she had blackened thanks to the defensive training Sango had insisted on putting her through, though she suspected her mother knew either way. It was written all over the older woman's face every time she had seen her attempting to fix her hair or dress before coming inside, even if she never pressed the issue knowing that her once time hopping daughter could hold her own against a pervert on the subway.

Kagome smiled softly, remembering the look of relief that had crossed her mother's face the first time she had seen the shiny limo pull up to the walkway leading to the shrine. She suspected that it also had something to do with the fact that while she had spoken briefly about the colorful cast of Hosts she had stumbled upon, she had actually made friends with them. She had finally started to live in the present, instead of wallowing outside a magic well that had thrown her back through time two years ago.

A weight settled against her shoulder, and the Higurashi girl glanced down to see that the Haninozuka heir had finally succumbed to sleep after fighting his drooping eyes for a while. Her smile brightened a little at the way he snuggled further into his bunny, Usa-chan, before she cast her cheery expression to the other boy watching from her opposite side. Takashi was as silent as ever, but she recognized the way his gaze softened at the sight of Mitsukuni nestled into her side.

Letting her own dark blue eyes droop a little lower, Kagome wondered for a moment how she had ever tried to avoid the Host Club in the beginning. The group of boys, plus Haruhi, were definitely not her feudal era friends, but they had quickly filled a void that not even her middle school friends could ever hope to keep full. She supposed, feeling her face pinken slightly, that it helped that Mitsukuni was just so darn cute with his insistence that she become friends with him and his silent cousin. Not that Takashi was not… well…

She quickly let the thought fall away, not wanting to put herself or her heart in that situation. She knew all too well that most of the charm was honed and perfected to please their female customers, and she tried really hard not to read too much into it whenever Takashi took her hand in just the right way or Mitsukuni leaned in just a little too close. She was their friend, not one of their blushing, giggling customers, and she did not want to lose that friendship just because her friends happened to be overly handsome boys in a highschool Host Club of all things.

Not that they were not all handsome, just…

Kagome groaned slightly, feeling her face darken a bit more, and suddenly wished that the seat would open up and drag her inside so she was not pressed so close to the Loli-Shota host attempting to burrow into her side. She was not entirely sure when the sight of either of them had started to make her heart flutter wildly in her chest, and she was definitely confused by the fact that both cousins somehow managed to elicit the same reaction every time with the smallest of actions. She was thankful that neither one of them had said anything about the way her face randomly darkened at any given moment, because she was not entirely certain what she would say if they did.

It hurt, too, though, when she really thought about it. There was an old pain buried beneath the layers of her heart that came to the surface when it started to remind her of Inuyasha. The half demon she had once loved could never decide between her and Kikyo, and she wondered… if Takashi and Mitsukuni both noticed her attraction to them… if they both tried to return those feelings… how could she choose between them?

How could she break someone's heart the way Inuyasha had once broken hers?

Feeling a hand settle on top of her own, Kagome glanced up at the silent Morinozuka heir watching her closely in her own silent triade. "I'm sorry," she said softly, trying not to disturb Mitsukuni. "I don't know what came over me. I'm just stressed and tired from the exams, I guess."

Takashi did not look like he believed her at all.

She nibbled on her lip lightly, flicking her eyes away from those knowing gray eyes that seemed to pierce into her very soul at the moment. It was a horrible lie, that much was obvious. She had never been very good at it to begin with, and jumping through time itself had not made her any better. "Do you…" she muttered softly, trying to steer the rather one sided conversation in another direction, "Do you think you did well on the math exam today, Takashi-kun?"

The eyebrow that rose in response was enough to tell her that he saw through her attempt to diverge the conversation. Kagome felt her face burn hotter underneath his intense gaze, knowing that it had been a stupid thing to say to begin with. Of course Takashi had done well on the math exam… he had been doing his best to tutor her in the subject, after all.

"I, um…" Embarrassed by her sudden inability to even speak properly, she glanced down at her other hand that was beginning to create awkward folds in her dress. Her raven colored locks tumbled over her shoulder to hide her face with the movement, and she would have sighed in relief if not for the fact that Mitsukuni chose that moment to shift in his sleep. Kagome inhaled sharply, her eyes immediately the size of saucers, when the blonde's hand slipped away from Usa-chan to latch onto her… her…

He had a hold of her….!

Trying to take a deep breath to calm her suddenly racing heart only pushed her chest firmly into his grip, and the Higurashi girl felt sheer panic pierce through her brain when he twisted his hand unexpectedly. What… what was she supposed to do?! An odd little sound escaped her when she tried to pull away, Mitsukuni only tightening his hold in response to the retreat, and she felt her face begin to darken for an entirely different reason.

This was not suppo—!

A million embarrassing ways to try and escape the situation filtered through her mind in an instant, as the second little moan erupted from deep within her throat. Kagome tried to hide it almost immediately, attempting to cover her mouth, and found her eyes swiveling toward the silent male sitting at her other side when his grip halted her from doing so. "T-Takashi…" she whispered softly, "...kun?"

He… he was so close all of a sudden. His breath fanned across her face, but it was the way his darkened gray eyes slid down to watch the way she bit her lip that made her heart pick up the pace once again. "Don't," he whispered back.

"Don't… don't what?" Surely he could not mean… but her thought process came to a grinding stop when his fingers brushed across her cheek in a fleeting caress. She could not look away from him, trying to process what exactly was going on. The Morinozuka heir only tilted his lip slightly in response to her question, however, and as a million more questions began to bubble up beneath the surface, she felt a hot puff of air against her neck that put an end to every last one.

Mitsukuni leaned further into her side, as he brushed his lips against her ear. "Don't run, Kagome-chan."

Oh.

Oh.

He never called her...

"Oh my god," she barely managed to squeak, as it dawned on her that they had planned this. They had… they were going to… "I… I…" She could not find any words when they began to execute whatever this was, and felt her embarrassment hit an all time high when she finally managed to peek out from the pile to watch the limo's separation window slowly slide upward to give them some privacy.

Though, only one thought truly horrified her more.

What in the world would her mother say when she got home?
