Over a Cup of Coffee
Narcissa pulled her jacket up tighter hiding her face from the people moving around her. She walked down the street as quickly as she could making a note not to touch anyone, as if they were contaminated and dirty. Finally she stopped, finding at last where she was going. She quickly went into the shop label Starbucks and scanned the room over her sunglasses. There she was, sitting in the corner next to a couple with a pram, Andromeda. Narcissa looked around as if someone else she knew would be there and quickly walked to the table.
"Cissa!" Andromeda said loudly standing up and making a move to hug her sister. Narcissa quickly slid into the chair opposite Andromeda before she could be hugged and looked straight ahead. Andromeda looked awkwardly around and sat down.
"This is such a sweet little shop, really popular, they make the best coffee," she said just as a waiter came over and put down to large coffee's in front of the girls. "I got you a cappuccino, your favourite," Andromeda smiled and sipped at her beverage.
"Why did you want me here?" Narcissa said coldly looking down her nose at the coffee. Andromeda sighed and turned around to the pram Narcissa assumed was the couple next to them and she picked up the baby inside, who was sleeping heavily and turned back to Narcissa.
"This is Nymphadora," she said. "Your niece." Narcissa sat forward and looked at the baby in her sister's arms. It wasn't a secret that Narcissa had always wanted children and was already waiting to be pregnant in her relationship with Lucius. So it wasn't a surprise that her heart melted for a few seconds at the sight of her sister's baby.
"Why is her hair orange?" she asked extending her hand and moving the blanket, Nymphadora was wrapped in, away from her face.
"She is a Metamorphmagus," Andromeda said excitedly. Narcissa quickly moved her hand back.
"I guess that is what you get when you cross and pure blood with a mudblood," she said sticking up her nose and regaining her firt hard shell.
"Don't talk about him like that," Andromeda warned. Narcissa stood up and fixed her perfect frame.
"If that is all," she said moving towards the door.
"Cissa," Andromeda said hopelessly. She quickly stood up to follow Narcisa out of the shop. "Cissa," she said again once they were out on the busy street of London. Narcissa stopped this time, to much attention had been drawn to her, she had to turn around now.
"Why did you come?" Andromeda asked. Narcissa loved her sister, but what would her family think? Narcissa looked at her as if she could see right through her before finally walking away, leaving Andromeda and her baby on the path, abandoned again.
