AUTHORS NOTE: This is my first Rizzoli and Isles so it's not fantastic but I do hope you like it! It's only a short drabble highlighting what I actually wanted to happen at the end of episode three!

DISCLAIMER: I don't own these fantastic characters!

[Goodbyes]

She turned to her door, her head bowed as she struggled to see the door through her tears. He was actually leaving. How could this be? She was only just coming to grasps with Maura's idea that she liked him, his own confession that he liked her for him to admit that he was leaving. She should have kissed him and made him realise what he was going to miss while he was away but she couldn't do that, could she?

A back pressed against her, arms trapping her against the door, "Rizzoli," he breathed in her ear causing the walls she had built tremble, they were close to falling down around her as she turned in his arms. She had believed he was hot beforehand but now seeing him in the rain, his shirt clinging to his strong chest and his hat protecting his, he was much more attractive.

"I can't..." her words were stopped by him leaning in and taking hold of her lips with his. The kiss started off aggressive but eventually it softened as his hand moved up to run through her damp curls. She moaned underneath his lips as she leant up against him, her hand pressing against his shoulder as she searched for support. She had known this boy for years, she had thought she hated him for all those years but wow, he could kiss. She didn't want the kiss to end but it was starting to get cold. She pulled away, her eyes closing as she pressed her forehead against his.

"Jane," the use of her first name caused her to smile as she looked up at him through her thick eyelashes. She knew she should push him away to stop her heart from being broken but instead she took hold of his hand as she finished opening the door.

"Stay with me," he looked down at her and she blushed, "just for tonight." She amended. "I just need to be with you even if it's just for..." he stopped her again with a kiss, his hand reaching behind her to open the door before leading her upstairs. "Should I be worried that you know which apartment is mine?" She teased lightly as she climbed off of him so that she could open the front door. He just laughed in response as he followed her into the apartment.

Once inside, the confidence she had downstairs disappeared. The apartment was just bland and her dog was yapping at her ankles like he always did when she came in. Joe, however, didn't seem too bothered as he knelt down to show him some affection. Rizzoli looked down at him, smiling. How come they had been stubborn for so damned long? She excused herself so that she could quickly go tidy up the bedroom.

Everything but the little black dress had been tidying away when he snuck in. He saw her reaching out to put it onto a coat hanger when he came up behind her. "You looked breathtaking in that dress," he whispered taking it out of her hands and putting it down on the chair that sat in the corner of her room. She turned in his arms, a smile painted across her face as she looked up at him.

"I'm sorry for being a bitch at the dinner," she expressed running her hand over his stubble before reaching up and nipping his jaw lightly with her teeth causing him to groan. He wrapped his arms around her, carrying her to the bed. He straddled her and pressed a kiss to the tip of her nose.

"I'm sorry it's taken me so long to tell you that I like you." He said before kissing her again. She just smiled underneath his lips. They might only have one night but that was going to be a brilliant one night.
