Bittersweet Sorrow
Tony sighed as he watched Ziva make her way towards the elevator. She was going to Israel tomorrow, and he didn't know how long she would be gone. Perhaps only a few days, perhaps a week. Watching her go, he felt a pang of panic in his heart. What if her plane crashed? What if she got shot in Tel Aviv? After all, she was somewhat of a traitor to her father. What if she never came back? Filled with a sudden fear, Tony rushed forwards and caught the elevator just as it was about to close.
" Ziva! Wait! I have something to tell you." He leaned against the elevator door. She looked confused for a moment.
" Yes, Tony?" She asked. He gulped. This was the wrong timeā¦the wrong place. And Gibbs was right there.
" I, um, I hope you have a good trip." He offered. His partner patted his shoulder and gave him one of those unreadable smiles.
" Thank you, Tony." And then the elevator door slid shut and she was gone from view. Suddenly, everything felt wrong.
