CC-2224 or Commander Cody looked absent-mindedly at the wall across the barracks. Thoughts were racing through his mind. The Jedi were in a coup? They were working against the Republic they were aiming to save?

Cody had ordered General Obi-Wan Kenobi's death and he was still unsure how he felt about it. He had sent Arakyd Prowler 1000 probe droids into the sink hole on Pau City. He had seen Kenobi and his Varactyl mount, Boga, fall into the gapping sink hole after the 7th Sky Corps AT-TE had fired at them on the cliff edge. The droids had found no body or evidence of the Jedi's death or survival.

'Would it have been too much to ask for the order to have come through before I gave him the bloody lightsaber back?' Cody shook his head. At least he had died fighting in a sense.

Cody was a loyal solider and Order 66 still puzzled him. He had served next to Obi-Wan Kenobi for 4 hard years during the Clone Wars. The man was strong and kind. He thought of himself and his troops as equals. And in Cody's mind, complimented him one too many times during his service. Kenobi had even tried to get Cody promoted many times. He had joined the Jedi as a Captain and he had Cody promoted to a Clone Marshal Commander because of his work with the troops. Cody had saved his General's life as many times as the General had saved his. But he was a traitor, right?

The orders and full loyalty to the Republic, meaning Palpatine, had been drilled into him since his childhood on Kamino. He obeyed the orders given to him, but part of him wished he hadn't obeyed. He might be a solider of the fallen Republic and the newly formed Empire, but in his mind, he was still loyal to General Obi-Wan Kenobi.
