So, I'm starting this new account off right with a one-shot! Yeah! This is a little one-shot on how Sakura feels after Sasuke left. Anyway...here we go

It had been exactly a week since he left her on that bench, though, it definitely felt like longer. Each second without him seemed to be minutes. Minutes felt like hours, and hours like days. She feared that she would never get over him, or she would go mental in the process. It kept her awake at night, not knowing whether he was safe or not. Her soft, plush, bed seemed to smother her to the point that she had to get up. She had to escape. Up until this point, oddly enough, she was terrified to leave her room, let alone her house. No one had even heard her voice since it happened. Nobody expected to, though. Not if they knew how much she loved him. She let her mind loll over the word love. She couldn't even bear the thought of saying that word now. Not when she thought back to how thoughtlessly she'd thrown that word around at him. It would never feel right anymore. It would taste sour on her tongue and burn her throat. But now, she could stand it no longer. She had to clear her mind.

As she stepped through the doorway into the cool chill of the night, her eyes widened and she immediately wanted to turn around and run to the safety of her bedroom, but she had something she needed to do. This night was exactly the same as a week ago. Rain pelted the sidewalk and cracks of thunder boomed in the background. She felt like she was going to be sick. Ever since she was a small child, she'd been afraid of storms, and now was no exception. She couldn't turn back though, not now. She stepped into the rain, not bothering to pull up the hood of her old hoodie. It wasn't a long walk to her destination. Maybe 3/4 a mile, give or take. She was fit, she could make it. Setting a pace, she began to reminisce on all of those precious memories of him that she possessed until the sky lit up with a bright, white light followed by a loud rippling of thunder, she yelped. A tear slid down her cheek as she momentarily stopped. She was half way there...she could easily turn back and...No. She couldn't. This was something that she had to do. It wasn't a choice.

She set a faster pace and began to count to calm herself like her mother had taught her.

CRASH

She began to breath loudly.

CRASH

Her strides became increasingly longer.

...8...

CRASH

Tears slid down her cheeks at an alarming rate.

...9...

She began to gasp.

...10!

She realized her eyes were shut tightly and slowly opened them and cringed at what she saw.

It was a bench...the bench...that bench. The same place that she last saw him. She felt a wrenching pain in her chest as she slowly ran a numb hand over the rotting wood. Carefully, she lowered herself into the fetal position on the bench and shivered. It seemed like an hour before she opened her mouth and said softly "I...don't need you anymore..." She sniffled once more and with sudden rage bellowed "Do you hear that, you coward? I don't need you! I never did..." Tears began to race down her cheeks. Before she fell asleep, she spotted a barley visible form in the tree line. "...Sasuke..." she mumbled, her heavy eye lids closing slowly. The figure stepped forward and looked upon the broken girl. "...Sakura..." He said, disappearing into the dense cluster of trees.
