Clear Bass and Dauntless Drive

In which Megumi is in for a ZETTA-huge surprise.

I do not own TWEWY or any characters.

He smiled to himself as he locked the last door: there would be no disturbances, no intrusions. Every door to this room was locked on every plane, and the walls were similarly fortified. All the phones were disconnected, the T.V. was unplugged, and the radio had no power. Even the glass floor with all the fish below was tempered against any creative intrusions. No one would enter uninvited. No sound would exist in this room unless he wanted it to, and right now, there was only one sound he wished to hear...

He held his breath as he lowered the sleek red headphones over his ears, his phantom heart pounding with delight. The days could be so busy sometimes, so he cherished every moment he had to himself...

His hand raised up the ipod like he would raise a wineglass: like all the wine in his cellar, this music was smooth and tasteful, good to the last beat. His thumb glanced over the wheel, its light touch leaving not a fingerprint as the blue bar raced through thousands of classical artists. Beethoven, Bach, Motzart, Chopin, the list went on and on. The cursor wheeled all the way down, then all the way back up, its owner delightfully uncertain of what works should grace his ears. He finally settled on a well-known artist and laid back in his couch, smiling and muttering "Rock me, Amadaeus."

Unknown to him, the ipod that rested upon his lap was a fake. Each and every song was chosen specifically to annoy him, from the ridiculous to the frivolous, from Akon to Weird Al, and several thousand in between. Each one was lovingly purchased and renamed and placed on an ipod extremely similar to his. Naturally, there were no instrumentals.

His own ipod was never seen by him again.

However, while his ipod may have been fake, the prankster left behind his red headphones, which held up to his uncompromising standards by blasting the bass of Hannah Montana's "Best of Both Worlds" into his eardrums with dauntless drive and unreal clarity. His screams echo through all the doors just enough to register in another Reaper's ears. The door bursts open seconds later, but by then the eavesdropper is far away, punching digits into his cell phone.

A voice on the other side picks up, "Yo, this is WildKat, how can I help you?"

"It's me, you factor!"

"Okay, me." smirks the coffee shop owner, "What's the situation?"

"Megumi's.. er- groove- is zetta thrown off!"

"Excellent, we should do this again sometime. No further requests." And with that, the line is dead and the eavesdropper hangs up, reaching once more into his pants pocket for a real find... Despite what everyone might think, he has an ear for the zetta-beautiful as well. He reclines against the wall of a building with a smile on his face, thinking.

"Rock me, Amadaeus."

Yeah, as anyone who's played the game probably guessed, the title comes from the item description for Megumi's headphones. Sho and Hanekoma just seem like some random dudes, so I thought it could suggest what's going on when Sho's not giving out missions.

Reviews are always welcome.
