Lois glared at the tall blond standing before her.

"You did… what to my cousin?" she asked, tapping her foot against the cool marble floor.

"I didn't do it on purpose," he started, but was cut off by Lois's snort.

"Yeah, I've heard that one before."

"I'm telling the truth! It was an accident! It just… happened."

Lois walked past the fumbling billionaire to look out at the street where she knew her cousin was waiting in his expensive sports car.

"And just what are you going to do now?"

"I'm taking care of it," he assured her. "Now, where is her bag? She's down there waiting for me and I promised it would only take a second."

"Define 'taking care of it'," Lois told him, hands on her hips in the typical Lane fashion.

"I'm taking care of it! I'll pay for it, I've got it under control!" he told the irate brunette, starting to lose patience with his girlfriend's cousin.

"Damn right, you'll pay for it, it's your fault," she reiterated.

"Okay, Lois, we're just going in circles. I know it's my fault; I'm the one who rear-ended her so I'm going to buy her a new car, any car she wants, okay? Will you lay off now?" he asked, grabbing the bag Lois had handed him.

"Fine, just, be more careful, Ollie, you could have hurt my little cuz," she said, ushering him to the door.

"I know, and I swear, I'll be more careful from now on," he promised, giving her a small wave as he left the apartment.

Lois just shook her head.

"Boys and their toys, they just don't know how to be careful."
