It's another one of those days and Xion finds herself particularly focused on the sea-salt ice-cream in her hands. Somehow, she finishes it faster than all the other days she's spent eating the very same ice-cream sitting in the very same spot. She glances over to her right and sees that Axel is staring blankly at the sunset, his sea-salt ice-cream long since gone. She sighs quietly and lowers her head, deciding that staring into her lap has suddenly become the most interesting thing ever.

"Well…this is awkward."

Xion doesn't bother to lift her head at the statement and only laughs weakly. It is only her and Axel today. Roxas was running late, probably from the work overload he's been receiving lately. Some days, he doesn't even show up at all. It does not go by unnoticed to her that there always remains a large gap between her and Axel, that, when left unoccupied by Roxas, was instead filled by a looming aura of…awkwardness.

She didn't hate being left alone with Axel; it just wasn't exactly the most comfortable situation in the world. Every time she catches Axel glancing at her, something in her stirs and she has to remind herself that she has no heart. (Or so she's been told.)

Axel shifts in his position a little and this causes Xion to finally look up. He doesn't say anything though and just scratches his head and gives her a small smile. Something in Xion snaps at this moment and she decides it's probably from her dire need to be rid of the awkward situation they always seem to find themselves in.

She closes the gap between them and settles in next to Axel. This time, Axel is the one that stares at her.

"You're sitting in Roxas's spot."

She can see the hint of amusement in his eyes.

"I know. It's late and he's probably not going to show up today. It can be my spot today."

Axel takes a moment to take in what she had just said and then leans over to pat Xion on the head and laughs loudly. The sound of his laughter makes Xion smile inwardly to herself.
