A/N: I really have no idea where this came from... it just kind of jumped into my head. Hopefully it's good? As always, reviews are love.
"Don't tell me if I'm dying, 'cause I don't wanna know. Don't wake me 'cause I'm dreaming..."
Galileo trailed off with a sigh, frowning to himself. He ran a hand through his messy black hair, looked up at the sky and - "Beautiful, isn't it?" - jumped. He turned to the side. A woman was sitting beside him on the perfect white school steps, staring at the sky as he had been. How long had she been there?
"Um, I g-guess? If you like looking at blank spaces?" The woman laughed. It was nearly impossible to see stars these days - the cities were always so brightly lit, even at night.
"I meant your singing, actually."
"M-my..."
"Singing. It was a lovely song. The 21st Century did have some good ones."
"Who are you?" She finally turned to look at him, a glint of something - sadness? Amusement? Both? - in her eyes.
"A friend. Well, a friend of a friend. Friend of a fan, actually. God, I'm even starting to sound like him."
"A f-fan? Starting to sound like who?"
"You'll probably find out at some point. You can never tell with him." The woman sighed, looking up once more. "You're going to be wonderful one day, you know? I just wish I could be here to see it."
"M-me? I'm nothing s-special. Mad, weird, dangerous. That's what they say."
"Doctors don't know everything, Galileo."
"H... how d'you know my name?" She gave a short laugh.
"Like I said, you'll be wonderful. Galileo Figaro, the boy set to change the world with nothing more than a dream and a bad arsed babe." Galileo just stared at her. "You'll be the most important man in the world."
"Wh... h-how could you know that?" The woman took a moment to brush a mass of curly hair away from her face, giving him a knowing smile.
"Spoilers."
