Hello hello hello and welcome back to the brief revival of this dumbass author! On a note, I am back into writing fanfiction and even drawing fanart, so this was coming, but now that I have officially caught up with the new series to the latest strip, I had an epiphany!

Has anyone else seen the strip!? Prussia during the time of Napoleon comes home from being out with a copy of the first edition of Brothers Grimm fairy tales to read to his "Little brother". This scanlation apparently happens around the same time as the flashback in Private Concert where Holy Rome called Prussia a "war monger" in the process of praising his musical ability. I originally thought Holy Rome was in his own home during that scanlation and Prussia happened to be there to look after him, but nope. It is revealed in this latest scan that Holy Rome is actually hiding in Prussia's home!

Just a note if you have seen the scan, Holy Rome does refer to Prussia as "Big Brother" but Himaruya did backtrack and say that that was a mistake. He does NOT call Prussia "Big Brother" but aside from that, we can say one thing is finally officiated.

I am so old school, I don't even know if anyone still argues this, good god. But we now know with absolute certainty that Germany and Holy Rome are the same person… but they aren't. Germany was formed out of the remains of Holy Rome, which also explains the scene where Germany is "born" he is already older than any of the chibi!nations. Actually he is the exact same age as Holy Rome was when he passed. Now they say Holy Rome died, that is repeated often, but it is possible that he didn't actually completely die before becoming Germany because Chibitalia explained that when Rome died, he disappeared. Holy Rome was still there, physically, so this can actually still tie into that old as dirt valentine's strip where we see a hint of Germany possibly remembering his time as Holy Rome. But they aren't the same, right? Right. Germany was made by the united efforts of the German states under Prussia and Austria imposing a whole new identity on a weakened, dying country to essentially reincarnate him.

That is the closest idea I can come up with, and it works in the Hetalia universe (see the Joan de Arc scan). Reincarnation is a legit thing in this universe. And we see in practice that the act of reincarnation erases the memories of the person's past life and allows them to start anew without all the pain they suffered before. And all the pain Holy Rome endured. Separated from his beloved and forced into long drawn out wars he was not at all equipped to deal with. Austria had a fondness for Holy Rome back when he was the primary European power. In that same timeframe we see Teutonic Prussia actually never got too involved with HRE and just did his own thing (Lichtenstein's Diary of Swiss Dopiness), so it is quite interesting to see Prussia being the one caring for the dying nation in his time of need.

This brings some things in perspective you guys. For one, this actually VALIDATES ME! Like yeah, just go back two chapters and this strip actually makes my claim that Prussia actually sheltered Germany all his life actual canon! Like, oh my god, the feeling when your headcanon becomes fact! The validation feels man!

But anyway. This actually is a huge turn for Prussia's character, taking in Holy Rome and caring for him in secret. He completely changed as a person, no longer being about himself, he had someone else to care for. Think about it, Holy Rome was officially dissolved and possibly injured by France, mortally wounded. He is sick and completely bedridden. He is dying, and yet Prussia put all his energy and time and love into this boy. He would play music for him, read him books and tell him stories. He never told him things that went wrong. Never told him that France had defeated him and that things in his life were not going well. He was struggling physically, mentally. But instead of focusing on himself, he gave everything he could to this child who he virtually adopted as his little brother.

While Hima did say that HRE calling Prussia "Big Brother" was a mistake, Prussia calling HRE "little brother" was never retracted. So Prussia did adopt Holy Rome. It makes you wonder, why did he propose the creation of a united Germany. We know in history that he did it because apart, German states were too weak. But this is character dissections, not History. So let's make some more headcanons together, shall we?

What if Prussia originally took HRE in out of pity, a hurt child found god knows where, and sick. Originally he thinks to just abandon the fallen country, but something, we have no clue, makes him change his mind. He takes in Holy Rome and nurses him back to relative health, even though he is still dying. Over the course of caring for him, Prussia actually falls for the nurturing role.

Prussia was born in the middle of bloody wars in the middle east. He was born in the midst of a siege and surrounded by gore and death and filth. He had fought so hard to get where he was, but in the end he was always alone. And Prussia, as discussed in one of my previous chapters, hates being alone. He abhors it, but he had gotten used to it. Now, with HRE, he isn't alone anymore. But then Holy Rome dies (some way some how) and Prussia, heartbroken, convinces the German states to reincarnate him as something else, something stronger. They turn him into Germany, suppressing his memories as HRE and allowing him to live on, like giving a new blood flow after an artery has been severed. His life support.

Perhaps when Prussia was about to turn away, HRE called out to him. Maybe afraid. Maybe he told him he didn't want to die alone.

Maybe.

Hetalia is back in my future guys and it is getting feely on my end, haha. Totally take this chapter with a grain of salt. This is more headcanon dissections and half-baked ramblings based off canon material and just my general bullshit. I'll have a proper dissection soon, most likely gonna be for France. I am collecting what I need now in between my other projects and daily life (I got a real job now, yay! [not even sure if i am being sarcastic]).
