JD walked into the general store with a musical hum that immediately died when he saw the price of the shotgun he'd come to buy. His mouth dropped open in shock. "Hey, is this right?"

"Aye, sir, 'tis right. Went up yesterday wit' th' last load." Gloria hurried to wait on another customer, leaving JD fuming.

"Dan-" JD quickly changed his speech when women, including Mary Travis, looked at him. "Doggone it!" There was no telling what kind of headline he might have been facing if he had finished his original thought. Knowing he'd have to wait another week, JD stomped out.
