Blood everywhere.

Allison Tex lay on the cold, hard floor thinking her last thoughts. Why didn't she say it? Why couldn't she tell him three words? It wasn't that hard. She was Freelancer Tex. She could do everything. That is, she could do everything but tell Church what she thought. Three freaking words, and she couldn't say it. This was truly her greatest downfall. She coughed up more blood, and it spattered all over the inside of her helmet. Her vision was starting to go dark.

She remembered the tune of a lullaby her mother used to sing to her when she was little. One day Church caught her singing it.

"Over in Killarney, many years ago, my mother sang a song to me in tones so sweet and low."

She changed into her night gown and sat on the bed, singing her lullaby and brushing her fiery red hair. Allison stopped singing when she felt two strong arms wrap around her. She relaxed into Church's arms and looked up at him. "Don't stop," he said, his wet, brown hair clinging to his face. He'd just stepped out of the shower.

"Just a simple little ditty, in her good old Irish way. And I'd give the world if she could sing that song to me this day," she sang and laid back on the bed. She rested her head on Church's chest and lightly traced her finger over it while singing him the lullaby.

Before she drifted into an eternal slumber, she heard the ending to her lullaby. She dismissed the tune as her imagination running wild until she recognized Church's voice.

"Toora loora looral, hush now don't you cry. Toora loora looral, toora loora loorali..."

Allison stretched her hand out to the darkness, and as tears spilled from her eyes she whispered, "I love you, Church."

This oneshot seemed a lot longer when I was writing it. =\ I think Tex was rather OOC, but I tried my best. The lullaby she sings is an Irish lullaby, Toora Loora Looral (I think that's right).

Feedback is much appreciated,
