A/N: Another Sonic Forces video game AU chapter (hopefully you've noticed these're going pretty much in chronological order by now)! The moment where Chaos attacks Tails while he's trying to fix Omega and Tails cowers and begs Sonic to come save him was one of the most infuriating, OOC moments in the game for me, so I had to do a fix-it chapter for that, believe you me! It's so ridiculously, grossly OOC, especially when you factor in (as I mention in this chapter) that Tails defeated Chaos 4 all alone in Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut! Give me a break!

Drabble 486: "Tooth and Nail"

When Tails leaves to fix Omega, Knuckles and Amy offer to go, too. He is their for-now leader, their friend, still a kid.

Touched, he declines. He'll return in a few hours, but if he doesn't, they can come looking.

Well, as luck would have it, something does happen. Chaos ambushes him while he's alone.

But it's nothing Tails hasn't handled before! Hell, he took out Chaos 4 by himself when he was even younger!

He's not afraid!

One defeated Chaos later, he had no reason to be.

He smiles up at the sky, knowing Sonic was watching over him.
