"If you have thirteen chocolate chips and Vin eats five - "
"Hey! No fair!" JD pouted.
" - and Vin eats five," Ezra patiently continued, "how many do you have left?"
JD carefully pulled five chips out of his pile and counted the remaining ones while keeping those five covered. "Eight."
"Correct! Vin, if you have seven chips and Buck and Chris each give you five more - "
"He's got more'n me!"
"I'd share the," Vin glanced hopefully at Ezra, "eleven."
"Correct!" He handed them three more chocolate chips.
"Jackpot!"
"Me too!"
Ezra smiled, his gold tooth flashing. "So now we may continue yoah cooking lesson."
