OK this file has been sitting in my drive for way too long, so after half a decade I suppose I should officially bury this thing, I'm not gonna finish it short of a legion of muses descending to smash a plot into my skull. If I ever had any concrete plot in mind it's long forgotten. I must have had something in mind for at least the next chapter for my original opening AN to be so optimistic:

"Yay! Next chapter and a lot sooner than the last one too! I'm actually not sure where to go from here quite yet but whatever I guess I'll think of something."

If only. I think the biggest problem was I was trying for a bunch of relationship stuff beyond my skill level, even after editing out the weird contract thing from the ch 5 rough.

Take this for example:

Paulina's POV

There's been a lot of talk about that loser Danny lately. The main topic; he's not as much of a loser as everyone thought! First it turns out he's totally built like a fucking marble statue, then he has all those mysterious injuries and sexy scars. The very next day he brings down a Ghost all by himself, with a cast on the leg that he had had bandaged the previous day as well. No one knows what exactly happened but he also beat Dash, but instead of killing him or something, he was the bigger man and called a truce. Then today he turns up in school exhausted with a whole new set of injuries, the ones from last week are gone! The main rumor that seems the most reliable is that he was a ghost hunter like my beloved Ghost boy. Apparently he got super strength and healing from one of his parents' experiments and they didn't know about it. There are rumors that he works with Phantom, too, though there's no real proof of that. But I'm not really concerned with random speculation

"Danny! Hi!" Danny was by his locker but for some reason the Goth freak and techno-geek were nowhere to be seen. Good, he's been a little too close to the freak for comfort lately. It took effort not to stare. He was wearing a short sleeve shirt like he used to before he suddenly started wearing long sleeves for no apparent reason last year. His chiseled arms were in plain view and I couldn't help but hug them, enjoying the feel of his muscles against my body almost as much as I enjoyed watching him squirm.

"Pau-Paulina! Hi, uh what are you doing?" He's actually kinda cute when he's nervous.

"I just wanted to apologize for being such a bitch in the past, if I'd've known you were working so hard I might not have been so hard on you." I put on the nice girl act with sprinkle of pseudo-innocence and hugged him closer to my chest. "And if you're still interested, I think I owe it to you to give you another chance; you free this Friday?" he was really sweating now, but just as he was about to stutter out an answer the bell rang. He chuckled nervously and pulled away, yelling something about getting to class on time. Hmm, maybe I was too straightforward, but if I'm not quick someone else get him, and we can't have that, not after that show Danny put on in the locker room… huh, Danny's arm was bleeding. I looked at my arm and saw a small smear of blood. Smiling, I wiped it up and licked it off my finger, my inner predator purring.

I

WANT.

/See? What the heck was that! Is she a sadist, a vampire? Never got around to the proper editing/omission.

/This part turned out much better though:

Valerie's POV

I can't believe all this stuff going on with Danny, but at the same time I can't believe no one noticed it sooner. If Danny is a Hunter it explains so much about the last year. Even those rumors about him working with Phantom kinda make sense. Well, if he is a Hunter he had better as hell be working with Phantom 'cause that's that boy's only excuse for not helping me against Phantom all those times. But… does that mean Danny is the bad guy… or Phantom actually is the good guy like everyone believes? I shook my head. There was no way that Danny was a hunter, or that he was involved with that lowlife Phantom. He fought the ghost yes and that was impressive but I'm sure that was an isolated incident; the ghost attacked and he defended, his parents probably taught him how. So he works out secretly and has a few scars. There's no way he's in as bad a shape as everyone says. Not that I really got good enough a look to say one way or the other. I ended up blushing and looking away as soon I saw his… moving on! They also say he had a whole new set of minor injuries when he came in but I saw him just before lunch and he was just fine. If I'm gonna believe that he's a ghost hunter like me I'm gonna need some solid evid… CRASH!

Danny was sent flying headfirst through the cafeteria doors, followed by an enormous spectral wolf. Before he could collide with the ground he twisted around and flipped on one hand, reaching his hands across his body to either side of his waist and drawing two ecto blasters from concealed holsters. He landed in a crouch before he quickly stood, pivoting to face the sleek silver and green beast, shooting at it rapidly as it charged him. He shot it square in the eyes, and the moment it blindly closed the gap between them he holstered the blasters as he turned away from the attack, and by the time I could see what he was doing again he was wielding an ecto staff and sent the lupine ghost flying with a solid strike to its side. Danny was right on its tail, and pinned it to the floor across its neck with the ecto staff before it could regain its footing. As it struggled to get up Danny drew the Fenton thermos from wherever it was he had it hidden and sucked it up. He then proceeded to the lunch line to buy his lunch.

Damn. Ok, he's not a ghost hunter like me. He's a better ghost hunter than me. It would have taken me my jet sled, nearly my entire arsenal, and a ten mile chase to get a ghost like that. Damn, I really need to get out more, seeing a boy take down a ghost should not seem like that attractive a quality. He sat down tiredly at a deserted table and started to eat, ignoring the cheers of the student body, oddly enough without the company of his two friends. I decided to go sit with him.

"Hey Danny! That was amazing! I didn't think it was possible for anyone to beat a ghost that easy." He looked up quickly as though snapped out of a trance.

"Huh? Oh hey Valerie. Uh, no, that was nothing; he was a bit strong for an animal ghost but all in all on the weaker end of the spectrum." He blushed. "I'm sure you could've done the same thing." I froze.

"How could I have done that? I don't have any weapons or super-strength like you…" he looked confused for a moment but then gave an amused smile

"Right, right, sorry, I suppose most people couldn't do that. Any decent ghost hunter could have, though… I bet that would've been cake for the red huntress…" He gave me a knowing look. "In fact now that I don't need to fight in secret like I have, I've been thinking I should look into teaming up with her." He looked at me questioningly. "It would sure as heck make things easier." Damn it he knows. Though I suppose if he wants to be allies it's not a bad thing. Maybe if I work with him I could finally take down Phantom.

"Y-yeah, you two would work well together." He's not the clumsy kid he's always pretending to be. This new air of confidence about him concerning ghosts is really different. "H-hey, Danny, ah, I was thinking … back when I broke up with you, There were some things going on that I now realize aren't as important as I thought they were… uh, what I'm trying to say is… d'ya think you'd be willing to give me… give 'us' another chance?" I blushed a little bit and gave him a sweet smile. Damn it why am I so nervous! I mean it though, the only reason I broke it off with him was because I was worried about getting him hurt with my ghost hunting, but since that's obviously not a factor… He turned red and started to stutter. I had to suppress a giggle. There's the cute, clumsy kid I know.

"Ah there you are Danny, sorry we're late science ran a bit late after Dash blew something up" Sam said as she came up and sat across from us, Tucker besides her.

"So you had to fight another ghost already? Everyone was talking about it in the hall." Danny let out an exasperated, bittersweet chuckle.

"Does gossip spread this fast in every school?" He gave me an apologetic look and launched into conversation with his friends, though I could tell he was glad not to have to answer me right away.Maybe I was a bit too straightforward. I sighed inwardly. That's probably part of why Sam never made her move; that weird clueless innocence of his makes him kinda unapproachable on these matters. I looked up just in time to catch a chilling glare from Sam. A lesser being would've shriveled up immediately but I looked her right back in the eye with a calm smile. I don't know exactly what you've admitted to yourself concerning the two of you but I'm not going to give up without a fight.

/And then my file on this would be chapter just ends with:

Sam's POV.

Which I never got around to writing.

So yeah, Apparently I was setting up a love quadrangle, Triangle after a stake through vampire Paulina's chest (not literally... probably). Sam wins of course, Paulina never had a chance, Valerie had her chance and is mostly drama. I can totally see Danny fighting alongside the red huntress though, relationship weirdness isn't going to mess up their partnership nor their friendship.

On the more technical side, I think the wrist relay thing works for a bit, but Maddie and Jack do eventually get data on Danny going ghost. Either they pick up the altered signal, the relay gets busted in a fight, Danny thinks the bracelet is busted, or there are circumstances that force Danny to go ghost and hope for the best. Any way it goes, the bracelet reads the transformation: Danny's heart rate increases exponentially as his blood pressure decreases, until his his blood is flowing/pulsing through his veins without a detectable heartbeat. His body temperature drops below freezing. His ecto signature increases exponentially like Maddie predicted, maybe even overloading the bracelet's sensors, as there's a lot of energy behind the ring of light when Danny goes ghost. Ha, then again it's not impossible for the bracelet to go ghost with him and give even better readings afterward. The wrist laser would certainly get stronger. But I digress. Jack and Maddie don't know what the heck that was, and reserve judgement/ confrontation until they learn more. Oh yeah, I was going to have Maddie make Danny gauntlets or something to make use of his ecto energy, but Danny grabs and uses them before Maddie finishes the energy control systems, thus accidentally revealing is conscious control of his ecto energy output. That facet of the secret would be out before the recorded transformation.

I'm think some generic showdown between Danny and some ghost or another forces a more standard reveal... but by that time Danny has been training/ fighting as a superhuman so long that Phantom is barely necessary, and Danny is/gets good enough to fight as Fenton happily ever after. The story ends with our heroes laughing at the Guys in white hunting Phantom when they know he's unlikely to show up.

If I'm feeling extra dramatic that generic showdown could be against Dan. Danny will have gotten strong enough to use all his powers as a human and beat Dan without going ghost. Beating the being that threw away its humanity as a human would be an extra sweet victory. But of course then Danny would have to explain to his parents what's up with Dan.

Oh and Vladdy "looks into it" like he said he would by stealing Danny's medical files, and finds himself rather chastised and ultimately repentant on seeing the damage he did to the boy he wants as a son. Huh, now I have visions of Vlad trying to apologize to Danny and being called out on his treatment of Dani, his more literal daughter. Vlad is forced to review his goals and the prices he's willing to pay for them, especially after catching wind of the Dan incident and the price he payed in that timeline. They call a truce.

That stuff's actually a decent end game but I have no Idea what to fill the middle with, which is my other bigger problem.

Anyway, thanks for reading guys, hope this is some semblance of closure, sorry about the disjointed notes.
