The Ballad of the Dark Sky

There is nothing that it calms a heart that does

Of the bitter his flavor

Nothing is enough to my soul that complains without peace

Your kisses without love

I see black sky spill on the city his pain

My eyes in the trace of the sun that the storm never turned off

Zeca Baleiro - The Ballad of the Dark Sky

Bruce Wayne walked, making a way in the high bush of the cemetery, while the rain falls weak but persistent. He approached of the tombstone, that was simple, it just had her name and the years of birth and death. Without epitaph, but he knew that she deserved one.

He was staring the discreet tombstone, almost as one of an indigent, when a step startled him. A woman deposited flowers in the ground, she seemed unconscious of his presence. She was totally cover, he couldn't see anything, just the red hair.

But he knew whom was.

-This wasn't the damned clown - she spoke, trembling voice.

Bruce didn't know if she spoke to him or if she thought aloud, but he agreed quietly.

-She removed the own life - she struggled against the tears. Hear somebody say this was surprisingly painful, even Bruce having the conviction that didn't exist remaining space for pain on his world.

She began to cry, he heard her snuffing among tears. He didn't say anything and Poison Ivy left. There was friendship, then, among madness.

Bruce deposited the only white rose that he had brought, beside the exuberant bouquet of the Ceres of Gotham.

"Harleen Quinzel" - the tombstone screams.

They never touched each other, they never talked each other without their alter-egos. But Bruce, on a mysterious and sudden form, he sees in the Columbine of the Joker something as the hope on the darkness. Batman had tried to help her, but she had sunk forever on the darkness of the madness.

And now she rested in the final uterus. And she was now a memory in Bruce's mind, kept close to other posthumous faces.

But she was not any face.

She would always stay as the insane metaphor that he had not stopped to love.

No tears, just the final good bye. He walked away.

But Bruce knows that she would always be shining among the darkness that occupied the place where one day had been his heart.
