A certain black-haired colonel stood solomly at a bus stop. He had two bags of clothes and a black suit on. A black stranger walked near him to stand in the bus stop. After a moment of uncomftable silence the stranger asked him "Where are you headed?"
"Away from here" was the ebony-eyed man's answer.
"Hungry?" the black man asked aimably.
"Nah, Im good"
After a pause the stranger said, "Your giving up to early you know. It aint over just yet."
"What do you know?" came the slightly bitter reply.
"A mite more than you." The negro chuckled happily. "It's a woman aint it?" More laughter, "Yeah I know. You know, you need to make a phone call."
The first man looked up, "I've already tried that. She wont answer my phone calls."
"No, no young man. You need to make a phone call." He pointed at the sky.
The colonel glanced up at the sky with mild curiousity and sighed.
"You want to get it right?" quested the persistant stranger.
"Yeah of course I do. But I just…"
"Here." The black man reached into a coat pocket and removed a quarter. "Take this quarter, go around the corner there. You'll see."
The colonel look at the other with amusment.
"Go on boy! Aint no time like the present!"
And the black-eyed man did just what he was instructed.

Roy Mustang stood uneasily at the door to his luitenant's apartment. He would never admit it, but he was scared. He had done so much to hurt his most treasured aide. They had a loving relationship together, but after the battle with the fuher he had abandoned her. It was time to apologize, he knew that as he stood at her door with a dozen roses.
I wanna be a good man
A do like I should man
I wanna be the kind of man the mirror likes to see
I wanna be a strong man
And admit that I was wrong, man
God Im asking you to come change me
To the man I wanna be
Straightening his collar he took a deep breath, and knocked gently on the door. He heard Hayate's bark and the scrabble of his paws on the hardwood floor from the other side of the door. His ears also picked up the faint noise of Riza Hawkeye as she paced towards the door.
If theres anyway for her and me to make another start
Could you see what you could do
To put some love back in her heart
Cuz it going to take a miracle
After all Ive done to really make her see
He straigtend up as the door clicked, unlocking. The wooden portal slowly swung open, revealing Riza Hawkeye in her civilian clothing, she was bending dow to grab her dogs collar. Her hair was wet, freshly showered and Roy could smell her shampoo, lavender. He passed the roses to her and placed a hand on her cheek.
That I wanna be a statement
I wanna be a great man
I wanna be the kind of man that she shes in her dreams
God, I wanna be your man
And I wanna be her man
God, I only hope she still believes
In the man I wanna be
She looked up at him, with tears in her eyes. Those eyes said what words could never. They spoke volumes about sadess, lonliness, hope and love. Love that, Roy realized, was directed at him.
Well, I know this late at night that talk is cheap
Lord, dont give up on me
"Im so sorry Riza. Will you ever forgive me?"
The blond reached out and fisted his shirt in her hand, pulling him into an embrace.
I wanna be a givin man
I wanna really start livin man
God, Im asking you to come change me
To the man I wanna be
"I forgive you."
