"We should have seen him by now. This is weird." Crystal said as she, Jean, Rogue Evan, and Kurt wandered around the outside of a warehouse district in New York City.
"Team two, you'll see some familiar looking orbs near the loading docks. Stay alert, Magneto brought friends." Storm said to them through the earpiece walkie-talkies. They soon found the metal orbs Storm was talking about.
"Understood," Jean said as the team took cover.
Kurt ported and looked into each of the orbs, coming up empty. They didn't know what to do as they all regrouped together.
"They really should know we're here." Evan they shrugged.
"The other team isn't having any luck either." Jean told her group just as a glowing card floated down between the circle of X-Men. They stared at it for a moment before Jean yelled for them to take cover.
The card exploded, just as they got out of it's way. Behind them, many buildings and structures were moved away by some force, bringing them together with the other team. A water town's metal panels moved away to reveal the Magneto's Acolytes. They were surrounded by fire that was obviously being controlled by the hyperactive teen in orange with a tank on his back.
Pyro went after their team first, sending his fire at them. Crystal was able to gain control of some it, taking him off guard. When she snuffed out the fire, he turned to Evan. Jean got him out of the way with her telekinesis. They had a bit of a time stopping him because of all the fire he let out at once until Storm made the rain appear. Crystal amplified it, making sure Pyro was soaked after Storm destroyed his tank.
Crystal looked around. The other X-Men and the Brotherhood had their hands full with the other Acolytes. She didn't see or hear Pietro in any of the fights though. This isn't the time, Crystal. She told herself when she saw Gambit slink by her. She snuck after him and watched his strange encounter with Rogue.
"Bonjour, mon chere. What's a cute thing like you doing here?" He asked slyly was taking out another card.
There was no way that she was falling for that trick like Rogue had. "What would happen if those cards of yours got wet?" Crystal didn't wait for an answer as a rain cloud formed above Gambit's head and poured down on him. She sprinted away towards where the other X-Men gathered as she heard Storm say she found Magneto.
When the X-Men and Brotherhood started towards the building he was at, the ground around them started shaking. Crystal tried to keep it in place, but Magneto was too strong for her to go against. The ground crumbled beneath them, taking them to some underground metal warehouse. Men with guns were surrounding them. Crystal looked up and thought she saw Pietro, but he disappeared before her tired mind could register it was him.
Her eyes widened as a giant robot appeared in front of them. The robot looked ready to attack as the ground started moving up to where it previously was. A purple beam started to shoot from its chest, aiming right towards them. It backed them up closer and closer to the city streets. Storm shot it with lightning, but it put the robot even more on the offensive. The plates on the chest moved, revealing more guns that shot at them rapidly.
Crystal tried to unsteady the machine by causing an earthquake underneath it. She didn't have much time to use her powers as it shot some green goo at her. "I can't get it off! Watch ou-" The goo hardened around her, stopping time for her.
Voices surrounded her as did a very loud buzzing noise. Everything was shaking around her upper body. Air burned her lungs as she greedily gulped it in as soon as her face was free. It felt like she hadn't taken a breath in a long time, and she wanted more. The air started to blow around the room and the men around her held her down as a man in a white coat stuck a syringe in her arm.
She felt all warm and fuzzy as they led her to a cell with a glass wall in front of it. They threw her in and she slumped down on the back wall. As she looked around, she saw Rogue, Evan, Blob, and Beast in similar cells. Logan was shackled down to a metal table and the men were asking him a lot of questions. Her brain barely registered them as she struggled to keep her eyes open.
Go to sleep, Crystalia. You'll feel way better. Her eyes snapped open at the voice in her head. "Go away, Maximus. Stop it." She mumbled, grabbing her head.
All the sudden alarms started to go off and some of the men left. That's when Evan freed one of Wolverine's hands. Wolverine slashed the other shackles before freeing Evan.
"Free the others. I'll handle the army." He said, running off towards the reinforcements. Evan freed her first, helping her up. She held onto the wall as he got to the others. They managed to distract the men long enough to get them in a make shift cell.
"Um, a little help here?" Crystal said, slurring a bit as she struggled to walk.
Logan groaned before slinging her over his shoulder. "They drugged you pretty good, didn't they, kid? Try to stay awake."
She looked at him like he was nuts. "Who can fall asleep with the alarms blasting?" She shouted as he started to run towards the way the reinforcements came in.
Kurt ported along with a woman with blue skin. "About time you got here, elf. We were- what's she doing here?" Logan said as he noticed the woman.
Kurt tried to explain but the woman interrupted him and told them to run. Logan took off, Crystal still on his shoulder. She saw the others in the hallway, keeping the guards at bay. Pietro wasn't there. He's probably running somewhere. She told herself as Logan tried to get to the exit. It closed on him and he slashed at it. The others looked around for another one until Kitty and Bobby let them to a ladder that led to a small door on the ceiling.
He went up first, tossing Crystal through the door. She landed on the roof of the building and crawled away from the , everyone was up except for Mystique. When she refused to tell where she hid the Professor, Scott left her in the military base. Lance nearly attacked Scott, but Jean stopped them from fighting.
She looked around, and still couldn't find Pietro. "Where-?" Before she could finish, Storm brought the chopper to them. Logan grabbed her and put her on the chopper. She pulled her legs up to her chest and hugged her knees as the feeling started to come back.
As the plane headed towards Bayville, Crystal turned to Lance. "Where is he? Is he okay?" She asked, trying not to cry while ignoring the annoying voice in her head.
He looked down, gritting his teeth. "The bastard betrayed us. He's with his father, Magneto." He growled out.
She didn't pay attention much after that. He had put her, his sister, and his friends in danger like that to do his father's bidding. He even let her get taken away and didn't bother rescuing her. He's going to pay for this.
