He was finally losing his mind, after many many years of ignoring, and arguing, and lying to himself, he finally started to cave. The old man's words rining in his head. Sesshomaru was stubborn.

He sat in his room, alone, in the dark, passing judgment and questioning his sanity. After 300 years he was finally lonely, wish desperately to have a connection to his past. He missed Rin, her dying words often haunted him.

His eyes darted slowly between a sword and a troublesome jewel holding onto a troublesome girl.

The sword was crying still, would saying please actually work?

Sesshomaru was not one for asking.

She would be so sad to learn of the time that has passed he wondered if it would even be worth trying free her. He knew why the sword cried, its goal was to protect her.

Sesshomaru stood and walked to it "What would you have me do?" He knew the answer, but perhaps a push was needed?

Sesshomaru placed his hands on the sword and lifted it, then he turned and pointed at the jewel "If it pleases you?"

Close enough,

The sword pulsed and he heard it cry.

Sesshomaru smirked, the sword was alive and its sole purpose was to protect the girl. He brought the sword down hard and the jewel burst into light, and then darkness surrounded him.

"You won't find her you demonic fool"

He paid no mind to the the jewels evil cry,

"You sin against her in many ways demon Lord, I see your eyes, I hear your thoughts, know your heart"

"Be silent"

"Yes, many sins against her, but how does it fill, to know that not even you could protect her"

Sesshomaru closed his eyes,

"You come now because you are lonely, tell me Sesshomaru, son of Touga the Great, do you have something to protect?"

Those words haunted him for decades,

"Fine her" He no longer needed the sword of his father, the sword was not his gift, it was the path to his gift, one his father so desperately wanted for his sons.

So, Sesshomaru threw the sword into the darkness, the jewel cried out.

Soon Sesshomaru could see a twinkle, like glass against the sun. He moved to follow it.

He came to her, laying in darkness, she had not aged at all and in her hands, his father's sword were it rightly belonged. Sesshomaru bent down and scooped the girl up.

The jewels power went haywire and Sesshomaru quickly fled to the light, and he made it out just before the jewels went poof, and entered Kagomes body, with a jolt of power, she took a breath and her eyes snapped open.

Slowly she looked up at him. She looked tired for someone who had been in a deep sleep for more 300 years.

"Miko"

"I, I know you"

He held her, she held the sword "Sesshomaru?" She tested his name as if to be sure that she got it right,

"Hn, miko, it is I"

Kagome looked at the sword "Where am I?"

"My home"

"I'm tired, sleepy, your sword won't stop humming" Her eyelids got heavy, and soon she was fast asleep.

All that and she wanted to sleep?

"You were created for death, not singing lullabies"

The sword sang out, lashing out at him,

"Say please" Sesshomaru demanded,

The sword went silent, close enough.

He laid the miko down, and he watched her sleep.
