AN: Alright, this took my a lot of nerve to post since I haven't written fanfiction in years, so please be gentle with me (but not too gentle as I do want to improve)

One of the many perks of Toothless gaining the ability to transform from a dragon to a human at will*, was that he fit perfectly next to Hiccup in his bed. The village's dragon trainer was grateful to the goddess who gave this gift, as it was much easier to sleep with his beloved lulling him to sleep by means of playful kisses and loving words, amongst other things.

The boy sunk further into their spooning; Toothless who was behind him was kissing down the outside of his ear. Hiccup tried to conceal the giggle that was threatening to escape his throat when he felt his dragon start to nip at his sensitive earlobe. He could almost feel his partner smirk against his flesh.

A soft, content sigh escaped Hiccups' lips. He closed his eyes feeling that his sleep was at reach.

Until, "Okay, so the safe word is 'rabble' "

Hiccup's fear-filled eyes snapped open before his mate flipped him onto his stomach. Hiccup tried to ask what the other was planning, but he had his answer when the hands on his hips morphed into dragon claws.

Hiccup shot up out of the covers after screaming, "Rabble!"

The frightened boy felt the arms of his dragon encircle his waist. He jumped a bit before realizing that he had been dreaming, and that his Toothless posed no threat to him. Hiccup laughed quietly to himself before trying to restore a calm rhythm of breathing.

"Are you alright?" Toothless asked with concern.

Hiccup turned to gaze at the beautiful face of his partner, causing a dreamy smile to form on his lips. "I'm fine," he sighed while lying back onto the bed, followed by his beloved, "I just had a bad dream."

At those words, Hiccup closed his eyes and tried to resume his sleeping. Toothless stroked his mate's auburn hair in hopes to comfort the once frightened teenager. Once he saw that his human's breathing was deep and slow he allowed himself to smirk.

Although disappointed, the reaction Hiccup gave was priceless. It took so much effort to try to sound concerned when laughter was threatening to bubble out of him. Oh well, he crossed one sexual scenario off the list. He praised himself for checking with Hiccup's dreams before trying it in reality.

One of the many perks about being a dragon was that he could project his thoughts into his mate's mind; amusement always was sure to follow.

*Small note about the beginning - I'm writing sort of an epic story where Toothless begs the dragon moon goddess for a chance to be human so that he is able to mate with Hiccup (not purely for sexual reasons, but because as a mate he is able to join their life forces together, so that Hiccup is better protected, and they live as long or as short as each other) well, yadda yadda yadda angst happens and yeah. You'll just have to wait to read it. Meanwhile, comment =D
