The heavy arm lowered down on Luffy's shoulder and it seemed as if he burst into tears. Tears gushed from his eyes. It seemed he didn't realize before that Ase is dead. And only now standing in front of the simple cross decorated with red beads with a smiling and a sad icons and wiping the tears of a black shirt of Crocodile who pressed him to his breast he realized that he would never see the sparkling smile of his brother.

Crocodile silently stroked the boy's hair as never clearly aware of his weakness and inability even if he wanted to help Luffy in his grief.

Blue-gray ribbon of smoke of cigars curled in the air, petals of the bouquet given to the grave by Shanks rustled. Without any word Crocodile dropped on the ground and seated Luffy to his knee. Seemed on the first view so fragile body of the future King of Pirates trustfully snuggled up to the former enemy. Luffy nuzzled on Crocodiles's neck, continuing to sob.
