Snow White
By Any Unborn Child
There was no mistaking the bond that had been forged between them. Be it in blood or in metaphysical states, Fai and Kurogane had indeed gotten closer in the events, in the amount of trauma and bloodshed that they had endured together.
They both knew that in a matter of moments, it could all change. It could all disappear in a millisecond. They didn't discuss it, but they knew it. They didn't have to discuss it.
The two of them could feel in their pit of their stomachs, their hearts would ache just a bit more with every reminder, every notion that nothing was ever certain. Their companions, the brave Syaoran, the beautiful Sakura, even the furball Mokona – they could be taken away in an instant.
They knew this.
They didn't need to say anything about it.
This was because that whatever had transpired between them, be it silly arguments or huge acts of pent-up anguish and violence, inevitably made them closer than anyone else they had met, anyone else that either of them had come to know.
They could love one another.
They could kill one another.
And they both knew this.
They both were capable of such actions – it had been proven many times before.
They had their own worlds, the places that they were set to go back to, to run away from.
The transgressions of the past didn't matter though.
Between them, there was nothing there but white, the snow white of what could be and what was meant to be.
Nothing ever stayed the same…
At least not for long.
