Chapter 11- Acceptance and Reconciliation

-/-

Tink sat on her bed staring in to space. She's been recalling what just happened.

"Why did I just dream about Lance? Have I already fallen for him? But why does my heart still ache for Terrence? I don't know what to feel anymore." She thought.

"Or maybe I feel this for him because he looks like Terrence? And that I need someone to catch me when I fall?"

"Tink?" A certain someone knocked on the door. Tinkerbell's thoughts were disturbed as she ran for the door and opened it to see Her precious friend outside.

"Oh my goodness, Periwinkle.." Was all she said as she covered her mouth with her little hands.

"How are you? I haven't seen you in so long!" She hugged her really tight. Tinkerbell didn't say anything and just stood still. "Tink? Is everything all right?" Peri broke away from their hug and looked at her friend with worried eyes.

"I- I am! I just could not believe my eyes. I've been so busy in my life that I never thought you would come and visit me. It's just overwhelming, Peri." She said softly as she gave Peri her sincere smile.

"Can I come in? I mean… there's lots to talk about, right? We need a lot of catching up to do!" Pero pulled her inside and slammed the door shut.

Lance arrived work early since Fairy Mary really needed his help with a ton of stuff. Upon arriving their stations, he can't seem to find his beloved angel in the group.

"Hey, Bobble. Why is Tinkerbell not here yet?" He looked around hoping he'd spot his little blondie somewhere in the crowd.

"Oh hey, Lance! Don't you worry about Tink. She's always late for work. But you know what they say. The genius one always comes in late."

"Why would they say that?" Lance tilted his head.

"Because they stay up all night thinking of what productive thing to do for the next day!" Clank jumped in the conversation.

"Right you are, buddy!"

"Were you really thinking about anything productive last night, Tink?" Lance smirked in his thoughts as he remembered Tink blushing after finding out what happened before she woke up.

"Oh good morning, Lance, my boy. Have you come up with something to help the water talent fairies with their fountains?" Fairy Mary approached them.

"Good morning, Ma'am. In fact, I have just the right concept for that fountain. But, I'll be needing the help of a water-talent to be able to do so. You see, there needs to be a coordination with how the flow is."

"Then might as well get the head of the group, Silvermist. You've met her, I suppose?"

"Silvermist? Isn't that…"

"Well anyway, my dear. Back to work! I will make arrangements for you and Silvermist." She left without hearing a response.

Terence went back to work feeling all the cold in the world. Periwinkle's place is no joke. He had to stay focused to make sure the snow didn't swallow him alive.

"Terrence! I got you a towel. This should keep you warm in the meantime." Silvermist wrapped the towel around him.

"Thank you." He flatly said.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah, don't worry about me. It just got really cold. But, I'll be alright. You should go back to work. I heard you were having troubles with the fountain."

"Well, yeah. You're right. I should go back. I'll see you later? We can watch Iridessa arrange her lights!"

"Gotcha. I'll see you then."

Silvermist flew off with a smile on her face. She felt that everything will fall into place once Tinkerbell gets over Terrence. And for sure, she'll be okay once Peri knocks her back to her senses. So, on her way to the lake, she bumped into Fairy Mary.

"Oh there you are, my dear! I have been looking al over for you!" She exclaimed.

"Hey, Fairy Mary. What's the rush?"

"I am arranging a meeting between you and Lance and-" she was cut off by Silver.

"Mr. legendary? Tinkerbell's boyfriend?" She was surprised that she had to team up with him.

"Well, yes, my dear. He's come up with a concept for your fountains. I am sure you two will do great. So are you available later? Maybe around 3 o'clock?"

"Uhm… sure. Why not?" She was not sure if this is a good idea. But she couldn't let a simple love quadrangle get in her way with work now, could she?

"Great! I'll let him know then! See you later."

-/-

"Okay. So there was this one time when Blaze fell off the bed 'cause I think I actually pushed him off in my sleep!" Tink and Peri laughed together missing each other's company.

"That was so mean of you, Tink! You should've made it up to Blaze. Poor little firefly." Peri continued to giggle.

"I was going to but he didn't seem to notice that he fell. He was still fast asleep."

Their conversation went on and on that Tinkerbell actually forgot she had a lot of work to do.

"Hey, Tink. How have you been? Like… really. How are things with you?" Peri sounded a bit more serious.

"What do you mean? I'm feeling great especially now that you actually went all your way to visit me!"

"Tinkerbell. You know what I mean." She stared at her with a more serious look. Tink knew there was no use in hiding it so she told her everything that happened.

"I don't hate Silvermist, Peri. It's just that… things have gotten awkward. I love Terrence and I love her too bit it's just too painful." She said softly.

"I know it hurts, Tink. It must have been very rough for you. But, have you ever considered moving on?"

"Of course. I've wanted to move on so badly. And I think I'm actually getting there little by little. Lance is helping me recover from that blasted truth."

"But what about his feelings, Tink? You should think about him too."

"I am, Peri! I think I'm somehow developing feelings for him. It's just… you know. Too fast to assume that I really do like him that way. I still love Terrence and it still pains me up to this moment."

"Acceptance, my Tinkerbell. You'll have to accept it one day. You know, he's your best friend. I'm sure that door to your friendship hasn't closed just yet."

"Does he even want to be bestfriends with her girlfriend's rival? Would Silvermist even want that?" Tink frowned at the thought.

"Tink. Terrence and Silvermist were the ones who got me to talk to you. Terrence suffered a lot of snow to get me here. That's how much they care." These words surprised Tink.

"They'd go that far for me?" Still not believing what Peri said.

"You think I'd go here for no reason, Tink? I mean. It's very hectic over there at the moment but Terrence begged me to at least lift your chin up for a few hours."

"Wow…" Tink started to cry.

"I think they deserve a 'thank you', don't you think?" Peri hugged her tight.

"You're right. Thank you, Peri. I won't forget this ever."

-/-

"I didn't expect that I was going to help you out." Lance told Silvermist while they drew the initial draft.

"Likewise." She frowned.

"But if this is going to save Spring, then we should at least get along."

"I wasn't starting a fight in the first place."

"Right. Sorry." He continued drawing.

"If I may ask, what's your relationship with Tink at the moment?" She frankly opened up the question.

"Let's just say, I'm the one who saves her from tears."

"That's it?"

"I think the rest is a bit personal. Everyone will probably know once it happens."

"You say it as if you're sure she was going to fall for you."

"And I thought you weren't starting a fight?" He glared at her.

"I'm just desperate." She choked out. "I didn't want to hurt Tink. I really didn't. It just happened and now I feel desperate to keep Terrence. Tink has you. Maybe you can make her happy?"

"Silvermist, I came here to talk about the fountain arrangements. Not about personal problems. You can talk to your boyfriend about that. He can probably ease your pain." He replied irritably.

"Terrence still loves her, Lance." She cried.

"Well that's the problem you started. I'm just here trying to fix what you and Terrence broke." He rolled up the draft and placed it in front of Silvermist neatly.

-/-

"I think that's all I can do for you today. Have a great day ahead." Lance flew off.

Silvermist sat there and cried. Just when she thought everything was going well… she just hoped that Peri was able to talk to Tink about getting over her beloved Terrence.

Tinkerbell bid farewell to Periwinkle and decided to buy something as peace offering for Terrence and Silvermist. It wasn't easy to accept, but she decided it was better than sulking down in her room everyday of her Tinker life. Tinkerbell flew to the Home tree in hopes that Terrence was still there. Terrence on the other hand was about to leave when he saw Tinkerbell standing in front of him. His eyes widened in shock.

"Terrence…" she started.

"T-Tink…"

"I uhm… I wanted to apologize for everything. For making you worry, getting angry for no reason and whatever else. I just want you to know that I appreciate everything you've done for me. I was just hurt because I've actually loved you for all I know. And for the first time, I had my heart broken. It's probably natural to act this way, right?" She giggled.

"But…"

"Here's something. Sort of like a peace offering. I don't want to waste what beautiful friendship we had back then. So… I hope your doors are not closed yet." Tinkerbell smiled at him ang gave him a little wood carved pendant from a Tinker's store down somewhere.

"Tink, I'm sorry for hurting you. And…" he was thinking of telling her that he wants her as much as she does. But decided not to. Their friendship mattered more at this moment. "Thank you for this. I'll treasure it."

"So, I guess we're best buddies again, right? Thank you, Terrence! I'll be a good friend from now on. Keep in touch, okay?" She waved at him and left. It still hurt her so much but it's a good step to moving forward. "I should tell Lance about this! I have to go see him!" She thought to herself.

Terrence still could not absorb what just happened. It was probably too much for him to handle. And it crushed him to know that Tinkerbell was actually going to move on. She did like him after all and he regretted every decision he made. It was too much for him to handle so he broke down. Chuck stood at the corner of the room watching his friend cry this much for someone he really loved. He was miserable at that moment.

"Oh young one… In time, the wounds will heal. I wish you the very best…" Chuck thought as he left the place.

Lance passed by Tinkerbell's cabin and knocked on her door when someone approached him from behind.

"Why are you knocking on my door, dumdum?" Tinkerbell surprised him.

"I was looking for you! You know… just checking if you're alright." He scratched the back of his head while admitting.

"Sweet! Let's go eat then! I have a lot to tell you about today!" Tink held his hand and dragged him away.

"Looks like you're happy today." Lance smiled.

"Why wouldn't I be? I'm Tinkerbell after all." She giggled and they spent the rest of the day in laughter.
