And so we danced.

Follow me into my world
Let your worries fade with every
step you take
Baby whatcha' waiting for
Let the tango take control
Feel the music inside your soul (Oh)
My hand is out, just grab a hold

Her brunette locks fell in front of her face, shielding the mass beauty it held. I advanced my way to her, waiting to see what she can do. I want to know-why is such a gorgeous lady like her at a dance...and not dancing? I fixed my mask, my blonde hair in the way, and nodded to those who danced past me as I made my way to her aura of grace.

I glided my way to her, the distance shortened to a mere few inches. Her striking green eyes held shock as she looked up to me, her cherry red lips slightly opened from the intake of air she made. I grinned and held out my right hand waiting for her answer to my invitation. She shyly smiled and took it, watching me through her masked face with intense curiosity.

No words are needed; we will let dancing speak for us.

Watch time fade away
My arms will keep you safe
It's just you and me
Dancing in this dream
Whatever you do, don't wake me up
The feeling's real won't let it
stop, no

My left hand on her waist, her right on my shoulder; the opposites linked in the air…and the music started. One, two, one, two, turn. She held her gaze with mine, not daring to let go…wanting to see what I can hold. My green eyes look at her with such intensity; I am dying to see what that mask of hers is hiding…what quintessential beauty it must hold.

She tightens her grip on my hand as I bring her closer to me, our hips and feet moving in sync. I turned her around sharply causing her hair to fall in her face, her eyebrows raised and she smiled. I grinned back and narrowed my eyes in a teasing manner, causing her to shiver.

Even though it had only been a minute, time seemed to stop when I was with her.

Don't be afraid, take my hand
Forget the world
Will you dance, dance with me
Podemos bailar eternamente
Trust in me, take a chance
Feel the Tango
When you dance, dance with me
Podemos bailar eternamente

Everyone stopped to stare. They ended their dancing and looked at us. Peering at us through the holes in their different colored masks, envy surging through their veins, I smirked and made our moves quicker, more precise. She gasped when I jerked her to my chest; I ran the hand that was on her waist through her hair but then put it back where it belonged.

She smiled at me and drew her lips towards mine, but only stopping short an inch, then she smirked and moved away, giving a short laugh. I picked her up by the waist and spun her in the air, before bringing her back to the floor.

The music was ending…

Now I have you next to me
Everything is how it should be (ooh yeah)
Baby, don't fight the feeling
We're floating on the clouds
If I could, I'd never come back down (no no)
Baby just keep on groovin' groovin'

Taking the tips of her delicate fingers, I held them up and twirled her around, watching her red dress sway with her. She looked at me and took both of her hands to mine, holding them up as she did fancy footwork. She slid her heeled-foot in a circle around me; the red gleamed in the light. She brought her leg up until it was straight in the air and then wrapped it around mine. I dipped her in a slow fashion, bringing her in a half circle as I did so.

The music ended with a satisfying gesture from the crowd. I brought the girl up to me and took off my mask to show her my face. She smiled and untied her mask as well, letting it fall to the floor with a light thunk. I inwardly gasped when I saw the sheer beauty it held, but only living in the moment for a short time. She pressed her forehead to mine and closed her eyes, a small gust of air leaving her perfect lips.

…But the moment will last forever…
