He looked at the tiny being, comfortably set in his new fast-built first necessity invention and felt like a big wave of love and warmth expand in his chest. It was like reaching the top of a mountain and embracing it all. The sensation was strong in his guts.

He extended a hand and gently brushed against the little hand.

Was it that simple? He wondered.

After all these years spent alone, was he finally ready for it? Did he reach the top of his mountain, only to find out happiness was down here?

He felt scared by the answer.
