A few weeks later was the first Quidditch match of the year. I rolled out of bed and got changed as the sun rose, so that I would have time to calm down and finish digesting before the match. By the time the others got down, I was meditating, trying to get my pulse to slow down. I typically didn't get very anxious, but this was definitely an exception, for some strange reason. Once everyone else choked down as much as they could, we headed out to the pitch together to prevent last minute attacks.
We all got changed, and I overheard Harry talking with Oliver, "Were you nervous for your first match?"
"Yeah, but don't worry. Everything will be fine."
We headed out and I saw Lee at the commentary stand. He waved to me as Madame Hooch walked to the center of the field recapping the rules. When she was done she told us to get in positions, "Ready? Three, two , one..." she blew her whistle and tossed up the Quaffle which I instantly caught. I shot towards the hoops, dodging the bludgers and others. I threw with all of my strength, and cheered as I scored my first points. After my quick celebration, I shot after the person with the Quaffle. A very well Bludger from one of the twins made them drop it, and I shot back to the Slytherin posts with the Quaffle once again.
I almost didn't notice when Harry's broom started acting up. I only noticed when James yelled out in panic, "Chrissy! Save Harry!"
I shot over just as Harry fell off his broom. I grabbed his arm, and flew down before my arm gave out. The landing was considerably softer than it would have been, but still he was shaken up. Just then he started coughing, and a little golden ball fell in his hands. I cheered as I realized that we had just won the match.
A couple days later I was walking with Harry and his friends to one of our classes, and they started talking about why Professor Snape would want to kill him. I nearly choked on my own laugh, "Um, in case you haven't notice, if he was trying to kill off one of us, it would be either James or I, not the perfect angel named Harry."
Hermione protested, "But I SAW him mouthing a spell, and he wasn't blinking. I've read that in order to cast a curse you CANNOT break eye contact."
I sighed, "The same goes for counter curses. But you do have a point, it stopped when his cloak was on fire, so the one truly cursing him was distracted by his clothing on fire. Maybe another teacher?"
Harry looked at me, "Do you know anything about Nicolas Flamel?"
I shrugged, "He was a french Alchemist. Rumor has it that he is filthy rich and immortal."
Hermione spoke up, "Hagrid mentioned that something was hidden in the castle, and that it was between Nicolas Flamel and Dumbledore. Do you know what that could be?"
I tried not to react, No way would Dumbledore hide the Philosopher's Stone in the castle! But..that would explain the weird things that have been happening this year.
I looked them in the eye, "Listen, I have an idea, but I don't want the three of you to try and save the stinking day because you think you know more than the adults. Tell me what you know, and I might just tell you what I SUSPECT is in the castle."
Five minutes later I stare at them in shock as I tried to process what they just told me, "So...let me get this straight. You saw something in the woods drinking unicorn blood, which a centaur told you is Voldemort. And now you are convinced that he is working with ONE of the teachers to get whatever is hidden in the castle. Let's narrow down which teacher it could be. McGonnagal would be ridiculous, she's worked here since before our parents were born. Snape was breaking or making the curse, so no sure response there. Sprout is too nice, Binns is dead, Sinestra isn't impossible...okay, I need a few days to think this out."
Hermione protested, "You promised that you would tell us!"
"Hmm? Oh, I said that I might tell you. But with how desperate you are, it would be completely idiotic to tell you what my THEORY is. I'll need to bounce some ideas off Lyllian. See you later."
A/N: Yes, I know it might be a little shocking for Sirius' daughter to be the sensible one, but she is just doing what she can to protect her family.
