A/N: A little something I decided to throw together. To receive the full effect you should read this while listening to the song it uses. Enjoy.
A clap of thunder crashed over the two men, one holding the other while it rained above them.
I was five and he was six,
we rode on horses made of sticks,
he wore black and I wore white,
he would always win the fight, Bang bang.
The older man raised his hand to the younger's head and lifted the blood stained hat off and placed it on the ground next to him. He ran his fingers through the mechanics brown hair, crusted with dirt and sweat. The young man, not even 25, convulsed underneath the touch of the older man and gave a worried look in his eyes as he stared at the gambler.
He shot me down, bang bang.
I hit the ground, bang bang.
That awful sound, 'bang bang,'
My baby shot me down.
The older man grasped the younger ones hand and looked to the leg that was covered in blood and ripped jeans. The blood pooled around his legs and soaked into his white pants. He felt hot tears sting his face as he heard the footsteps of many more infected make their way towards them. He pulled the gun from the ground and loaded it.
Seasons came and changed the time,
When I grew up I called him mine,
He would always laugh and say,
"Remember when we used to play, 'Bang bang?'"
He looked down toward the man below him, so full of life and vigor normally, now uncharacteristically saddened and worried. They both knew the fate that would become of him and it was only a matter of time. They both heard more noises as the infected drew closer, they would be here any minute.
"I shot you down, bang bang,
you hit the ground, bang bang,
that awful sound, 'bang bang,'
I used to shoot you down."
The southerner looked towards the city man and knew that he had to accept what fate had accepted for him and reached his arm to the scruffy face that he loved so much. He pulled his face down to meet his own and passionately kissed the other.
Music played and people sang,
just for me, the church bells rang.
As the older man pulled away and knew that there was no time left for them. He had to make the decision to put the only thing he loved in this world, the only thing that truly mattered to him, out of the pain and misery that he knew he couldn't hold to. And as he raised the gun to the others head he gave out a scream that rang for miles and pulled.
Now he's gone, I don't know why,
until this day, sometimes I cry,
he didn't even say goodbye,
he didn't take the time to lie.
He looked down to the motionless body below him and caressed it as he cried, the hot tears stinging his face. He pulled the silent body towards him and wrapped his arms around it. As the gun was raised yet again as he pulled it towards his own self. He gave out another scream into Ellis' chest, the man Nick loved, lived no longer, and pulled yet again.
He shot me down, bang bang,
I hit the ground, bang bang,
that awful sound, 'bang bang,'
My baby shot me down.
A/N: A bit depressing, but I'm not in the greatest mood and this just came to mind.
