A/N: This would be Knight, I'm posting for Shadow as she had to head out. No she was not happy about it. Anyways this is being posted early as part of a bet with Carefree Luminary. I think there will be another update this week so you can thank him for the double update!

"Where'd ya get that thing anyway?"

Kitty looked up from where she'd been reading with her stuffed dragon, Lockheed, tucked in her arms.

"What? Lockheed?"

Rogue nodded.

Kitty shrugged, "He was a present."

"From who?"

She shrugged again, "Not sure. It was a few days after I came here. He was sitting on my bed with a bow around his neck along with a note."

Rogue raised an eyebrow, "What'd the note say?"

Kitty scrunched up her face in concentration, "Um, something like…For when you need a friend." She smiled slightly, rubbing one of Lockheed's wings between her thumb and forefinger.

Rogue nodded, "Huh…"

Kitty tilted her head to the side, "What?"

Rogue shrugged, "Those words just sound familiar."

Kitty looked confused, "Who said them to you?"

Rogue sighed and moved to lie on her stomach on her bed, "Just when…when Ah came here…Kurt told me that If Ah ever needed someone; A friend or just someone to talk to…here'd be thahre."

Kitty blinked and looked down at her stuffed animal, "Do you think he gave me Lockheed?"

Rogue nodded, "Ah think it's a possibility."

Kitty nodded slowly, seeming deep in thought.

"Why would he do that and not say it was from him?"

Rogue sighed, "Didn't you say that ya'll were really freaked by him at first? Maybe he wanted to offer that himself but didn't want ta freak ya out and gave ya tha dragon instead."

Kitty nodded along, "That makes sense. Just…why would he offer that sort of thing in the first place?"

"Because he's lived his whole lahfe lookin' the way he does. He probably just wants to help us get used to being mutants."

"Huh I guess I never thought about it that way." Kitty said softly.

Rogue smiled slightly, "Well not to brag about mah little brothah, but that is the kahnd of person he is."

Kitty smiled, "True." She looked down at Lockheed again before hugging the stuffed dragon to her chest and standing.

"I'm gonna go talk to Kurt."

Rogue grinned, "See ya at dinner."

Kitty phased through their door, still clutching Lockheed and travelled down the hall to Kurt's room.

She knocked twice before phasing herself in; phasing through wood always had an almost grainy feeling to it.

"Kurt? You in here?" she looked up to see Kurt hanging from the chandelier by his tail.

He gave her a fanged smiled, "Katzchen, to vhat do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

She smiled at her best friend, "I just have a question for you. Could you come down here please?"

He smiled again and dropped from the chandelier, porting about a meter before he hit the floor. He reappeared standing upright in front of her.

"Vhat can I help you vith?"

She smiled, "Well I was just wondering if you knew who gave me Lockheed."

Kurt's expression was quite funny, he looked stunned, nervous and worried at the same time.

"Uh…"

Kitty giggled, "Did you give me Lockheed?"

Kurt continued stuttering and her smile widened.

"Because if you did…" she leaned up and kissed his cheek, a light blush rose on her own cheeks, "Thank you."

Kurt blinked and seemed to come back to reality, "I um…I just vanted you to be happy here and, vell…"

Kitty's smile brightened and she surprised him with a hug.

"You're wonderful, thank you Fuzzy."

Kurt smiled happy and hugged her back, "Anytime Katze."

She sighed and closed her eyes as Kurt's tail wound around her waist before looking up, "Anything I can do to repay the favor?"

He grinned and kissed her forehead, "You just did."
