Miscalculation
Thorton's calculations have always been correct; he didn't understand how a simple-minded blonde could ruin that so easily! Envious, Thorton/Barry

"Nerd!"—it all started with a simple ejaculation of an overused stereotypical noun. However many times he's heard that—and from various other people, nonetheless, all the more threatening than the blonde in front of him—the way this… this blonde—of which, using his own knowledge on stereotypes, is typically more or less under the norm of the average intelligence quotient—said that very word was different, per se, when Thorton heard it just this moment. Of course, he immediately began processing this little tidbit into his mind for further processing, summing up a witty retort with a simplistic yet intricate equation he came up with for the majority of cases, though it proved to be a failure for this one. He said nothing—nothing could escape his lips, no matter how many times he attempted—and just ended up staring at the blonde.

And he stared back, stupidly.

"Nerd," the blonde said again, this time more articulated, making the boy directed of such an offensive stereotype cringe—only slightly. "Well? Aren't you gonna say somethin'?"

There it is again! Nerd.

He's been called a nerd many times before, as aforementioned. Dahlia had always teased him about this, too: being a "nerd," that is. She's also teased him about love various times, mostly to say that he would fall in love soon, most likely, she would always say to him, with a certain blonde he couldn't stand (and they bet on it, too; why Thorton agreed to it, he figured he was too arrogant at that time, what, from always having been right before this incident). That had to be none other than Palmer's son, Barry. He'd always tell her that there was a zero percent chance of that happening.

He was wrong, though—oh, so wrong.

The blonde grinned, that innate fool. Thorton fainted from such an adorable sight and cursed to himself, mumbling something about owing Dahlia a huge fraction of his hard-earned Pokèdollars.

He had but only one miscalculation on his part, and that was the fact that this blonde had the ability to reveal barred sentiments in his heart with a simple and small smile. And that alone was the bane of his perfection—and his funds.

I know I have a bunch of other projects going on, but since I've finally beaten Nejiki (ugh, it's so awkward referring to him as "Thorton") I felt the need to write something about the nerd… and Barry. Just… something short and cute to fulfill my OMGNEJIKI needs. 3

You know, I loved the episode today: Challenging a Towering Figure, was it called? I really wish Barry would've battled Palmer instead, though. A father-son battle right after the mother-daughter battle with Johanna and Dawn would've been pretty awesome. :D

I will probably add on to this later, or attempt to write the completely different plot I've had before writing this piece of fail. But for now this will stay. o:
