Lusa Missing
A/N: This is a little idea that came to me and I just could not let it go. I t follows what Lusa is thinking in between her starting off on her attempted runaway and Toklo's talk with her. The song is "Missing" by Evanescence. Implied LusaxToklo.
Night had fallen across the forest, as all of the daytime creature went into their nightly sleep, all but one. Lusa was wide awake and staring at the den's wall. Suddenly she got up and stared at her friends.
Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
Maybe one day you'll look up,
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"
She knew that because she was injured she was slowing her friends down. She also knew that if she could leave them then they could continue on to the Last Great Wilderness.
She turned and walked out of the den, with the word "Sorry" on her mouth.
You won't cry for my absence I know-
You forgot me long ago.
'They didn't need her' she thought as she continued onward.
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?
"I'm just a useless black bear." She told herself as she lay down beneath a bush. She knew that she had to leave her friends that was the only way right now that she could help them.
Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?
She began to think about Toklo and what he had acted like toward her when they first met, as in contrast to how he was acting toward her now. 'Certainly though', she thought, 'he won't miss me. Probably, the only reason he was being so nice to her was because he thinks I am still injured.' She knew the truth about her injury though. Her leg was plenty fine and she could easily walk.
Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
I know what you do to yourself,
I breathe deep and cry out loud.
"Isn't something missing?"
Isn't someone missing me?
Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?
She had early in the day tried to figure out a plan to rid her friends of her. Her plans spanned from what she was attempting now, all the way to a very slight thought of suicide, but that was quickly rethought.
All her memories with her friend began to appear in her mind as she struggled to pick herself off of the ground and continue onward toward some unknown, to her, destination. She soon though found that she couldn't for some reason.
And if I bleed, I'll bleed,
Knowing you don't care.
And if I sleep just to dream of you,
I'll awake without you there,
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...
She did not know what was still holding her here with them. She didn't deserve to be traveling on this journey with them, so then what was there to hold her here. That was until…
"Lusa?" A familiar voice stated. A voice, that over the long stretch of time of her and her friend's quest, she had come to know. Toklo. She spun around surprised at hearing his voice. "Oh no. Oh Toklo I can't even runaway properly." She stated her voice breaking.
"Runaway, why would you do that?" He asked her in a disbelieving voice.
Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you'd love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?
A/N: I know I have another fan fiction in progress and another one I am thinking about writing, but this idea was too good to pass up. I got the idea for this from a picture on deviantart, and the story is also slightly based off of a video I found on YouTube that used this song, (For those who are curious: Type in missing evanescence and it should be the second or third video down.)
