Tamara Caitlyn: I just thought this up because I was bored in detention. Hope you like it. It's about Rika and her dad.
Promise
Rika Nonaka was walking the streets of Shinjuku, wearing faded jeans and the full heart T-Shirt her mother had given her a few months back. It was summer and Rika was bored. Takato was helping out with his parents' bakery, Jeri was helping with the restraunt, Henry and Susie were in Hong Kong, Ryo was visiting friends in Odaiba, and who even wanted to hang with Kazu and Kenta?
Rika turned the corner, right into her favorite alley. It was where she and Renamon had spent a lot of time together. (After she realized that Digimon weren't just data) The girl of thirteen with brilliant purple eyes and flaming red hair leaned against the wall. She took her blue D-Ark out of her brown belt that also held her cards. It was active, but then again, it always was. Renamon wasn't here in the real world. She was in the Digital World. Because of Henry's stupid, stupid father! She slammed her fist on the ground, the adrenaline rushed through her body. It was only a spark, nothing too big.
"Renamon." She whispered. NO yellow fox appeared at her side. None. It was heart breaking. "Promise that we'll stay for the sunset." It was an involuntary action. She did not want to sing. "When the moon shines through the darkness," she continued anyway. It felt nice, singing with no one around. Or she thought.
"We can find the path, that leads us home." Someone joined in the song. Weird. No one knew this song but Rika and…
"And on the way you'll…maybe…sing me a song." It couldn't be. He left. Left and never came back. She looked. A man about her mother's age was standing not five feet from her. The both continued.
"Promise that you always will be there, hold my hand if ever I'm real scared." Rika's hand immediately shot up on its own. "Help me stand up tall if I fall down." the man helped her up. She could properly see him now. He had dark brown hair that was sleeked back, his shirt was dark red with three little buttons at the collar. His pants were a pair of plain jeans. Brown dress shoes.
"Make me laugh away all my bluest days. How could you promise that you always would be there?" Rika tore her hand away and stared into the eyes that were so much like her own.
"Why'd you have to go away somewhere?" Tears sprang to her eyes and threatened to roll down her face. It was more of a question.
"Every morning into every night, do you watch over me like the sun in the sky?" The tears fell. She furiously wiped them away.
"Am I all alone," Rika's voice shattered. The man shook his head and continued.
"Or standing in your light?" Rika composed herself and sang the last few lines with him.
"I wish that I could…maybe…sing you a song…tonight. You promised that we'd stay for the sunset." They finished in sync. They didn't talk for thirty seconds. Finally, Rika did.
"Dad." she took a step forward and fell. All of her energy had felt like it had been zapped out of her in the one song. Her father caught her, picked her up, and hugged his little girl. "Daddy, I missed you." Rika cried in his arms.
It was really him.
Hope you liked it. This came to my mind in detention and I just had to share it. This will defiantly effect Runaway Locomon. Ha-ha.
