Written for StoryGirl02 for the Drabble Challenge at the Harry Potter Fanfiction Challenges Forum. I struggled with finding someone suitable for Draco, and even more after I chose Ginny, but I hope she likes it.
As always, I do not own Harry Potter. Harry Potter is copyright to J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers.
Draco admitted quietly to himself that sometimes, the things he said were rather stupid. He would never let anyone else know this, however. For him to boast that he could seduce any girl at Hogwarts, well, it had sounded smart at the time. Inflated his ego a bit. Now that he was leaning against the book shelf, spying on the youngest Weasley member...well, to say he regretted his statement would be putting it mildly.
It wasn't that she wasn't attractive. Long red hair and bright eyes with curves in all the right places. He would have to be queer to not have glanced her way every now and then, picturing what it would be like to touch her smooth flesh. To act upon those thoughts was more than forbidden. A Malfoy with a Weasley. His relatives would roll in their graves.
Yet he felt like he had no choice. His ancestors would be cursing him ten times over, but Draco couldn't let his pride take such a huge attack.
Mustering up his dignity, Draco breezed passed Ginny's table. He waited for her to look up at him. As he passed her, he cleared his throat loudly. Ginny peered up from her book, eyes narrowed and lips pursed.
"Quiet Malfoy. Those of us who know how to read would like to do so quietly."
Draco began to sneer, but had to stop himself. Clenching his fists at his side, he glided to stand in front of Ginny's seat.
"You better stop talking, Weasel. The way you get around people might think I'm your next victim." Draco spat out, placing his hands atop her table and pushing his face towards her's. In his opinion, things were going good so far.
Ginny's jaw dropped in shock, but she quickly recovered. Her eyes narrowed more and her brows knit together. She was fuming. "Are you implying that I'm some common harlot, Malfoy?" Her temper turned the color of her cheeks the same shade as her hair. Draco started to get a little worried, but he couldn't stop yet.
"It's common knowledge how many partner's you've had, Weasel. Am I next? Was that love at first sight, or should I walk by again?"
"Shut up, Malfoy." Ginny pulled away and slammed her book shut.
"Or you'll do what?" Draco broke out into a huge grin.
Ginny stood and matched his stance. She placed her hands on the table and pushed her head into his.
"I'll make you." She whispered, her tone practically dripping with malice.
"I'd like to see you try." Draco whispered back, his eyes locked on her's. His hand went for his wand. He tried to brace himself for whatever curse was coming. What happened, though, came as more of a surprise.
Ginny closed the space between them and pressed her lips to his. After a second, she pulled away and left the library, head held high. Her kiss had done it's job. He was speechless.
Though Draco had accomplished what he wanted to do, and though the battle was over, Draco wasn't excatly sure he had won.
Poor Draco. You can show him a little love (or hate), or praise (or flame) Ginny by hitting that review button.
