Uh ... While reading the latest manga chap, this random scene ... just played out in my head, I guess. It's just a short drabble of 168 words (title included). I beg all of you to respect the fact that I'm no native, but I'd really appreciate criticism that'd help me improve. Just no flames, se possibile.

If questioned about Ace, numerous memories would flood Luffy's mind. And when Luffy found himself standing on the battleground, surrounded by Marine Admirals and other superior enemies, while watching the scene unfold… He knew he'd never be able to forget that one.

It was just after Sengoku gave the order to proceed with the execution of his brother, the second the executioner began to move.

The second he realized he would never be able to make it in time.

And then the second that seemed like an hour, as the imaginary clock of life haltered in its steps.

Suddenly Ace eyes widened, his mouth opened just a little – then his eyelids fell slowly and his body slumped down.

Everyone was quiet, the shock hindered their every thought, every movement. There was no sound. The whole battleground seemed frozen in place.

Only minutes later was the silence broken by Luffy's roaring laughter …

After all, leave it to Ace to fall asleep in the most random of situations.

I love their narcolepsy ...
