Makoto watched Ami as she read. Amim looked tired. Her usually happy blue eyes weree dark as they sat atop dark circles. Makoto sighed and rested a hand on Ami's shoulder.
"You should rest." She said.
"I'm alright Mako-chan. Don't worry. I need to study now because I wont be able to later." Ami said. Makoto sighed softly.
[Dear my love, haven't you ever wantedto be with me and dear my love haven't you longed to be free?]
Makoto watched Ami as she kissed her boyfriend, feeling her heart breaking. She growled when Ami's boyfriend grabbed Ami roughly and slammed her into a wall and pressed against her roughly. Ami winced in pain, but let him do it.
[I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you. Light, sweet light, you are my own. Take my hand.]
Makoto blinked as she heard a knocking and went to her door. She opened it to reveal a crying Ami. She let her in and held her as she cried. Makoto took her to the bathroom and helped her wrap her cuts and scraps up.
"Stay with me tonight." Makoto said. Ami nodded and allowed Makoto to carry her to Makoto's bed. Makoto laid next to her and sighed as she heard Ami's quiet sniffling.
[We're leaving here tonight. There's no need to tell anyone, they'd only hold us down. So by the morning's light we'll be halfway to anywhere, were love is more than just your name.]
Makoto watched Ami as she stood in front of her full length mirror, looking at her body.
"I'm too fat." Ami said, poking her stompach.
"No you're not." Makoto said.
"He says I am." Ami said.
"He's blind then. You're not fat." Makoto said.
"You're sweet. Wrong, but sweet." Ami said.
"No I'm not." Makoto said, blushing slightly and pouting. Ami smiled softly and looked back at the mirror. She looked older, her hair needed cut and her eyes were dull and her smile was sad.
[I have dreampt of a place for you and I. No one knows who we are there. All I want is to give my life only to you. I've dreampt so long I cannot dream anymore. Lets rrun away, I'll take you there.]
Makoto watched Ami as she pretended to study. Makoto could tell there were other things on her mind. Makoto looked at the bandage on the other girl's wrist and cheek and felt anger bolt through her like lightning.
[We're leaving here tonight. There's no need to tell anyone, they'd only hold us down. So by the morning's light, we'll be halfway to anywhere where no one needs a reason.]
Makoto grumbled as she heard a knocking on her door. She looked at the clock and growled as her clock flashed 1 AM. She rolled out of bed and stumbled over to the door and opened it to feel something crash into her. She winced and blinked down at a pair of teary blue eyes. Makoto closed the door, locking it before turning to Amy, who was calming herself down.
"I dumped him." Ami said. Makoto smiled and hugged Ami.
[Forget this life, come with me, don't look back you're safe now. Unlock your heart, drop your guard, no one left to stop you.]
Makoto pulled out of the embrace to find herself staring into Ami's eyes. She gulped and watched as Ami leaned in and pressed her lips against Makoto's.
[Forget this life, come with me, don't look back you're safe now. Unlock your heart, drop your guard, no one's left to stop you now.]
The girls broke apart and smiled at each other. Silently Ami followed Makoto to her room and they snuggled up together.
"I love you Ami." Makoto said.
"I love you too Mako." Ami said.
