The Night Before X-Mas.

-

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
Except for a Cajun, both cunning and bold
Who snuck to the mansion, away from the cold

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
Dreaming of mornings free of training ahead
Save for the Rogue, quite alone in the dark,
With her green eyes open and her white stripes stark

When out from the hall there arose such a clatter
Rogue sprang from her bed to see to the matter
Out of the door, she flew like a flash,
Thinking of skulls she might have to smash

Out in the hall was sprawled mentioned thief,
Tangled in lights and what looked like a wreath
Rogue looked around wildly, wondering why he was there
When he looked up at her and grinned out a "Cher?"

She stared at the Cajun, with his cards and his bo
And knew in a moment it was Remy LeBeau
She opened her mouth to say something more,
When Wolverine burst out from behind a closed door

"Now Scooter! Now, Furball! now, Half-pint and Jean!
On, Ororo! On, Charlie! Before I get mean!
Out in the hall! We have an uninvited guest!
Get out here quick, 'fore I stab him in the chest!"

Upon hearing these words, Remy took flight
While Rogue tugged back Logan with all of her might
Around corners and couched and chairs, Remy flew
As the rest of the X-men were quick to pursue

With one final snarl, Logan tore from Rogue's grasp
She watched him hound down her thief with a very small gasp
When over his shoulder, the Cajun was very quick to discard
Something that looked like a pink, flaming card

Logan's eyes widened as he dove straight for cover
Remy laughed at the flames and turned to discover
An irate looking Rogue, impatiently tapping her foot
While behind her the card burst to fire and soot.

Her eyes glowed green fire! Her arms crossed over her chest!
Her hip was cocked to the side! Her hair a tangled mess!
Her eyebrows were furrowed! Her pale cheeks aflame!
She personified fury that no one could tame!

Remy grinned a Remy-grin, and strode a Remy-stride,
And he sauntered right up to Rogue's other side.
"Miss me?" He asked with a smirk that was hard to displace.
"You could have come in the day." A small blush creeped up her face.

"And where's the fun there?" He inquired out loud.
And she laughed and she laughed, unaware of their crowd.
The X-men looked on, some burns healing quick-rate
As Remy kissed Rogue on the cheek, tempting his fate.

Logan leapt up, his stunning claws at the ready!
Remy stepped back, his heart beat still steady!
Logan lurched forward, claws aimed for his chest!
With one more kiss for Rogue, Remy proved himself best!

He made a dash for the window, scrambling to the sill,
After he leaped out the window, everything was still…
But they heard him exclaim, before he swept out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
