How could he even think of leaving her? His heart started aching even at the thought.

"But don't you see?" He asked incredulously. Didn't she know? "Lisbon, look at me."

She didn't life her head, and he saw a few tears drop to the floor when she shook her head.

"Teresa." His use of her first name startled her into making eye contact, and he couldn't stop himself from grinning about what he was going to say. "I chose you a long time ago."

Confusion flickered across her eyes before understanding shone through. The most brilliant smile he'd ever seen from her, and then suddenly she was in his arms and his lips were on hers.

And in that moment, their every moment became clear. Every smile, every tear, every argument and every moment of support has led to this – the feeling of complete and utter happiness as her soft lips moved across his.

Seven words, and he'd changed her life forever. I chose you a long time ago. He'd made his decision long before she'd even realised. After all, he'd not even hesitated to kill Hardy when it became clear that Hardy would kill her. She now realised, he'd chosen her over Red John. She felt his arms wind around her waist and pull her up against him, and she felt another tear fall down her cheek (but for an entirely different reason). She'd never felt so loved in her whole life.

Her eyes fluttered open as they broke apart for breath, and her heart swelled when her eyes met his and she saw the love in them. Jane was perfect, the kiss was perfect, the moment was perfect – in that moment her life became perfect.

And he felt the same.

Perfect.
