Macy stood anxiously off to the side of the red carpet. She traced the flowered embroidery on her clutch with her finger as each of the guys made their rounds with the press interviews. Stella was off studying abroad in Paris or else Macy would be gossiping with her while she waiting for the guys to finish up. She had honestly been reluctant to come to this event, but Kevin had really wanted her there. She had never been able to refuse him not even when they were just friends, but now she was his girlfriend so she really couldn't say no.

She heard some fans on the other side of the gate chatting behind her. They were talking about her. Luckily they were saying nice things. They were the good fans like her. The fans that understood the guys had lives of their own and that the fans really had no say in who their favorite band dated. It wasn't their business. Most fans like that didn't judge their girlfriends too quickly. Macy discretely listened in to their conversation.

"She's so pretty. I mean just look at how toned she is! I would kill for legs and arms with that kind of definition."

"I know! And that dress…that pale pink really suits her coloring."

"I hope she's not standing alone for too long. Poor girl."

"That would be awkward wouldn't it? The press hogging your date for a good chunk of the evening? I don't think I could do it."

"That's just another reason why she's dating a Jonas and we're not."

The girls dissolved into a fit of giggles after that and Macy smiled faintly. She had to admit…they were right. Waiting patiently while the press does their interviews was very awkward. She wasn't a celebrity; she was just Kevin's date. Macy sighed and glanced around at the crowd. There was a very good turn out…not that Macy expected anything less. She opened her clutch and checked to see if she had mints or anything to suck on. She really didn't want a mint but the search for them would give her something to do.

"Ah ha!" She exclaimed to no one as she pulled it out victoriously. She popped the mint into her mouth and closed her clutch. Just as she had returned her arms to her side Kevin rushed her.

He wrapped his right arm around her waist and pulled her to him and wrapped his left arm around the back of her neck. He placed a quick kiss on her temple and then swiftly returned to his interviews. Macy blushed and smiled brightly.

It was amazing how one gesture from Kevin could turn her entire evening around. She knew what he had intended. He had intended that quick moment to take care of several things he didn't have time to express at the moment, and she understood them all. He turned to give her a warm smile before he started to answer another question and she winked at him in return.

She didn't know how it was possible to express regret, love, and appreciation in one small gesture. The only thing she knew was that Kevin had done that. He had apologized for leaving her alone, let her know that he hadn't forgotten she was there, and thanked her for coming with him all in a span of five seconds.

And she loved him all the more for it.

It was official. Macy Misa had the best boyfriend in the world.

A/N: My roomie and I were watching the New York City premiere footage of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and the entire time Tom Felton's girlfriend is standing alone and off to the side while he does his interviews. Well, in the background of one of Daniel Radcliffe's interviews you can see Tom walk over to her and give her an affectionate hug and a kiss before he moves on to the next reporter. It was so adorable. I went back and watched it a second time after I noticed it. Very cute little moment between the two of them. It almost immediately inspired this.
