Kyle shifted on the picnic bench. His bottom was sore from sitting too long, but from what he could see...the drive had been worth it. He silently thanked the fact he had gotten a passport a few years ago. There hadn't been anywhere to go, but he had gotten one just in case. The drive to this camp had taken almost an entire day. Now he was sitting on a soggy picnic bench, staring at an empty lake.
Normal people were in their tents or trailors, fast asleep. Eric and Kyle weren't normal. They had arrived early enough that the sun was still high. Their tent had been pitched, before they explored. It was a provincil park in Canada of all places, but the people seemed friendly and it hadn't cost too much.
A hand rubbing over the back of his neck drew his attention from his thoughts. With a smile, Kyle looked up at Eric. The other males hair was clinging to his face, wet from the rain. After flashing a smile back, Eric sat down on the table beside Kyle.
No words were said as they stared across the lake. The full moon was shining down every now and again, when the clouds shifted enough to offer her the chance. The light she cast caused the mist rolling over the water to glow eerily.
A loon howled, and Kyle shifted closer to Eric, a shiver running up his spine. His lover smirked faintly, muttering a soft, "It's not a wolf stupid," Before wrapping his arm around the Jew. Silence fell between them as they listened to the calls of nature. Crickets chirped, frogs croaked, and more eerie howls filled the sky.
Kyle thought the loons sounded lonely, and as he snuggled closer to the thick body beside his, he smiled once more.
The loons may be lonely, but he sure wasn't.
