Hey, guys!
It's been a long time since I delved into writing fanfiction. To all my readers, I want to apologize for being absent for eight years, but as you can imagine, I've changed a lot since then.
When I was first writing this story in 2010, I was a seventh grader who had a huge crush on the actor Lee Byung-Hun (the man who played Storm Shadow). Fanfiction served as my outlet to exercise those feelings - to play with the many creative possibilities it had to offer. This story allowed this girl, and many others, to escape reality for a brief while and travel to a different world where an author can interact with his/her/their favorite characters and go on amazing adventures.
However, like many other human beings, people grow up. I became more involved with high school, extracurriculars, and real-life problems. The next thing I knew, college came and hit me in the face with more challenges - physically and emotionally.
Now that I've graduated and turned 22 years old, I'm left to wonder: what happened? I remember a thirteen-year-old me reading what I've enjoyed late into the night, and although I suffered the next morning, I still loved reading fanfiction. A decade later, adult superheat123 is clueless, slugging through an existential crisis.
That's when I decided I should get back to doing what I loved - writing.
I've created a new account years before to write drabbles as an homage to the Teen Titans series. With this new account, I've started writing for the fandom IT earlier this year and now am getting into Legend of Korra. I was so excited to challenge myself creatively in this new version of myself that I wanted to share with you all my personal adventure.
This means that "You Never Know" may be revamped in the future (far future). This time, as a completely different story with no OC (Original Character). I used to be fine with writing Mai Wan Qi, but as an adult reading back a teenager's words, I don't think it's possible for me to go with the same route. Also, it didn't help that the second G.I. Joe film changed Storm Shadow's modus operandi, essentially rendering his character background in my story moot.
So, to all of you, thank you so, so, so much for your love and support during the development of "You Never Know". You all are amazing readers for continuing this far along, for giving constructive criticism, and for generally giving this story a chance to be read. Your reviews and follows always made my day and helped me as an author understand what the viewers wanted.
As you might've guessed, "You Never Know" will continue to be on hiatus as I'm in the process of writing other works. If you have any questions/concerns about anything, feel free to PM me, and I'll try to answer them. If you also would like to check out my other works in the meantime, my new username is 1103469.
Again, thank you all for your support. Each one of you had played an important role in the formation of "You Never Know". I hope you continue to live your best lives and strive for great things. I know you all have such potential to do good for the people around you and the world beyond.
Best wishes to you, my readers, in your fanfiction journey.
Cheers,
superheat123
