Chapter 10 – Homecoming…

Naruto had sweat on his brow as he continued to work on a Rasengan with his left hand only. They were outside of the village and would enter around early evening. Tsunade smiled warmly at Naruto as the boy continued to work on the jutsu. Shizune made light conversation with Jiraiya about topics that ranged from his writing to his current strategy for training Naruto. Naruto had his right arm bandaged and in a sling, but was happy that he had done the incomplete Rasenshuriken on both Orochimaru and Kabuto, well Orochimaru was dumb enough to try to attack Naruto when the jutsu hit Kabuto and was swallowed up in it along with his accomplice. Naruto had explained that he knew the damage he would inflict upon himself by using the jutsu, but also needed to protect his grandmother and grandfather along with his newly adopted aunt.

The group finally approached the gate and was met by the usual chuunin at the gates. After checking in they headed to the Hokage's office. They met Sakura, Tenten, and Ino along the way. Sakura and Ino took turns trying to hit Naruto for injuring himself, while Tenten seemed in awe at Tsunade being there. Also a crowd had gathered around the group. Tsunade sighed as she watched Naruto duck and weave through the punches of the girls. "I have an appointment, so need you to leave Naruto-chan alone," she explained to the girls. The girls stopped their assault and looked up at the woman dumbfounded. With that the four entered the building and entered the Hokage's office.

Hiruzen smiled warmly at the sight of his students return. "Welcome back Tsunade-chan," he said warmly.

Tsunade glared at the Hokage and said angrily, "Cut the crap and tell me why I wasn't informed about, one, my son living and two that he had a son of his own?"

Hiruzen sighed and replied, "It was the advisor's decision that your son be taken to protect him from possible enemies."

Tsunade growled at this and glared at the Hokage. She then said in a dead voice, "Then they will know what it is like to take a child from their mother, along with keeping her grandchild away from her and letting the village treat him the way they did."

Hiruzen swallowed loudly, but then said, "It was to try to protect both you and your family. Being that you were the last of the Senju and the Uchiha might want to capitalize on that by hurting him."

Naruto yelled, "Shut it old man! We all know that the Fourth was my father and Kushina, one of the last survivors of Whirlpool, was my mother. You hid everything from everyone. Did my dad even know that he was her son?"

Hiruzen shook his head and replied, "It wasn't recorded."

Jiraiya sighed and finally said, "Sensei, you screwed up, really bad. You have two Sannin, a jinchuuriki, and the Hyuuga clan ready to rip this village apart to help bring our family back together. Hiashi knew who Naruto's father was and guessed I was his grandfather. He also deduced that Tsunade-hime was his grandmother. Not a lot is hidden from them."

Naruto then said, "The Uchiha? That is a lame excuse, since they had them killed by both Itachi and a masked Uchiha, the same one who killed my mother. I would like to speak to your 'esteemed elder council' and give them some advice."

Naruto began to laugh when the door opened and the three advisors entered the room. Homura and Koharu scowled at the boy, but Danzo seemed to not be affected by the boy's laughter. Homura asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Naruto immediately stopped and glared at the elders. He then said, "You did a great job protecting me. We were just commenting on the excellent job you did and how you protected me from being ridiculed and spurned by the village of my birth. You know I love you guys so much that I'm going to recommend to the Daimyo that you all be put back on active duty and help me with D ranked missions, especially the ones dealing with garbage and trash, like I've been treated."

Koharu's face became even more wrinkled, if that could happen. She then said, "You will watch your tongue, genin."

Naruto's face showed a maniacal grin. Tsunade and Jiraiya both braced for a possible attack on the elders. He then took a breath and said, "That is Uzumaki-sama to you, old coot!"

Homura moved quickly and attempted to grab Naruto, but was surprised by his speed at avoiding her grasping of his jacket. She then said, "You will be respectful, Uzumaki Naruto!"

"That is Uzumaki-Namikaze Naruto to you, old hag! Now either show me some respect or I will make you," Naruto replied, angrily. A red haze of chakra began to form around Naruto and his features became wild. He then said, "Understand this. I know who my parents were! I hope that there is something left for me or there will be hell to pay. I am the jinchuuriki of Konoha and will be given respect or those who try to oppress me will feel my wrath. I will not succumb like the Uchiha did. You also used the man who killed my mother, father and ultimately tried to destroy the village. By that fact alone you are all three traitors. How do you plead?"

Danzo replied calmly, "We don't know what you're talking about, since it was Itachi who killed the Uchiha."

"You lying sack of shit! He did it on your orders while the Hokage was conducting negotiations. You also had another help him, since a lot of innocent Uchiha died and it would have taken more than Itachi to kill all of them. He was and still is good, but not that good. Deception is a key to being a shinobi, but you three were responsible for killing off all of the Uchiha except for Sasuke and Itachi. I know there were others who would have sided with the village and could have been saved. A…" Naruto interrupted his rant and shook his head. He then noticed something from the glare of Danzo.

"You were saying?" Danzo asked calmly.

Naruto shook his head and then made a single hand seal, while exclaiming, "Release." He smirked and let his chakra cloak dissipate. He then said, "Nice try with the genjutsu. Shisui's eye is a nice thing to use against me, but it didn't work."

Danzo was visibly shaken by the statement, but composed himself quickly. Hiruzen asked, "What is he talking about?"

"I haven't a clue Hiruzen. They boy is not in his right mind," Danzo explained.

Naruto smiled wide and said, "You took one of Uchiha Shisui's eyes before he died, and he offered the other to Itachi just before his death. You tried to use his eye to make a suggestion and have me follow it. It was that I give up this line of accusations. Had I not been prepared it might have worked. I wonder what surprises you have on your right arm if you have a Sharingan eye in your right socket. You would need to keep it covered to keep the chakra drain to a minimum." He shrugged his shoulders and looked confused at the confused look on everyone in the room. "What? Can't I be good at investigating? Or am I supposed to be the idiot of the village? That would be a real shame if I were too."

Hiruzen was the first to recover and said, "Naruto-kun, where did you get the information?"

Naruto winked and replied, "I know what I'm talking about. Also Itachi told me some of it himself."

Jiraiya began to laugh and said, "So that is why he was so perplexed when I came to save you."

Naruto chuckled and nodded. Homura glared at the boy and said, "You are not needed here genin, no matter who you declare as your father."

Naruto glared at Homura and said, "You don't get it do you? You're traitors. You conspired with a traitor to kill loyal shinobi of the leaf and also worked with the killer of your Hokage, my father, along with my mother, while nearly destroying the Uzumaki clan. And as for you Danzo, you have set in motion the possible destruction of Konoha by an Uzumaki and it won't be me. You also pissed of a former student of a Sannin."

Jiraiya glared at the elder, Danzo, but said nothing. Tsunade sighed and said, "Enough. I'm adopting Naruto now and none of you can stop me." She glared at the elders, daring them to complain. She then rubbed her hands together and asked, "So you want me to become Hokage? There will be several changes if I accept it."

The next hour was used to deal with the changes to the village when Tsunade took over. She then went to the hospital and surveyed the patients. She did heal Kakashi and Sasuke, but did so with great reservation.

Naruto chuckled while Tsunade giggled. They had discussed what eventually would happen to the elders. They weren't happy, but since Naruto had sent a clone to the Daimyo and discussed it with him, they were stuck with the Hokage's decision of them doing D ranked jobs for several months. Kakashi was disciplined for neglect of his students. Sasuke was disciplined for leaving the village without permission and Sakura was told not to contact Tsunade for hurting her 'son'. This had caused the girl to become angry at Naruto for coloring the Sannin's opinion of the girl, but also having the Momochi backing him up didn't help her case. The next month saw Naruto heal up and his team escort Idate in a race in Tea country for Tsunade's friend Jirocho. Naruto also made the boy slip on some ice when he tried to walk off without paying his bill for the tea shop.

The changes he instituted were the capture of Aio and the Sword of the Thunder God. The race was won by Idate, but Naruto did give the boy a piece of his mind and let him know that his brother was alive. Naruto was credited with the capture, but he also stoped Sasuke from killing the man since he was goaded into getting angry at Aio. Sasuke had also been injured by Aio, even when Naruto had told him not to engage Aio. This had further enraged the Uchiha, but the boy got injured anyways.

Naruto sighed when he knew what was going to happen next. He had come from yet another date with Hinata, to visit Sasuke in the hospital. Hinata accompanied him into the room and found Sakura pealing an apple for Sasuke, who appeared to be sulking on the bed. Naruto looked at his teammates and asked, "So how are you doing, Sasuke?"

Sakura began to cut the apple while smiling. Sasuke glared at Naruto and exclaimed, "Fight me!"

Naruto shook his head and replied, "No, first you're still injured. Second, we're in a hospital and there would be collateral damage to either the building or people in the hospital. Third, what would it prove if you beat me or I beat you? Would we take it too far and kill each other? Think about it… Right now you're the hothead not me. We can finish this later in a controlled setting with either Kakashi-sensei or another one of the sensei watching."

He turned and headed back towards the door. He noticed Hinata's eyes go wide. He turned to see that Sasuke had taken the knife that Sakura was using to carve the apple and throw it at Naruto. He dodged, but also put his hand up and it impaled itself in his hand. "Naruto!" Hinata screamed.

Sasuke smirked and said, "Fight me."

Naruto turned and walked towards the door with the knife still in his hand, a small trail of blood in his wake. Hinata opened the door and they left the room, only to bump into a nurse. Naruto held up his hand and the nurse gasped, but also guided him to a room to have his injury examined.

Sasuke exited the room and screamed, "Naruto!"

Sakura began to cry in the room and said quietly, "Sasuke-kun…"

The nurse gently removed the knife carefully from Naruto's hand and began to apply a bandage to his hand. She smiled and asked, "Is that better Naruto-sama?"

Naruto looked at the woman in confusion and asked, "Sama?"

The woman blushed and replied, "Yes, I was told that Tsunade-sama adopted you, so being the son of a Sannin and the Hokage to boot affords you the 'sama' title."

Naruto blushed and said, "Well, Naruto will do. I haven't done anything to warrant being addressed as 'sama'." He then chuckled in embarrassment, as he remembered his comment to the elders. Hinata smiled warmly at Naruto's modesty.

She bowed and said, "My name is Kaori, Naruto. If there is anything that you need, don't be afraid to ask."

Naruto smiled and lifted his hand. He then said, "Thanks for the patch job, Kaori-chan." He then left with Hinata. The pair left the hospital and headed towards the Hokage tower. Naruto sighed and said, "Man, I see what Konohamaru means about it being a drag being related to the Hokage."

Hinata giggles as they exit the room and then hospital. They walk quietly to the Hokage mansion. Upon climbing the stairs and entering the Hokage's office, Naruto's appearance darkens and he says, "I think he's going to run now. He almost hit Hinata-chan with a knife. Nurse Kaori can verify that I was wounded in the hand by a knife. Sasuke threw it and I blocked it with my hand."

Tsunade sighed and said, "You know you should find better ways to entertain yourself than getting injured."

Naruto smiled and replied, "Then how can I get all the sympathy from Hinata-chan?"

Hinata gently slapped his shoulder and said, "Naruto-kun…"

Naruto then asked, "So do we want to catch the new sound guards or do we want to just capture teme before he leaves?"

Tsunade cupped her chin in her hand and began to ponder. "It would be easier for us to prove his defection if he were caught outside of the village without permission."

A/N: Sorry for the late arrival of this chapter, but had some really big personal issues. One… I and my family are now homeless, no worries we are surviving, with the help of family and my continued having a job to work at and bring in an income. This chapter is a long time in coming and I'm sorry to my readers. My muse left me for a while and now it is back, but headed in several other directions.

I do have some other bad news, Naruto's Happiness is going to be abandoned for the time being. The reasons are many, from bad grammar, to plot hole you could drive a solar system through to a need for a total and complete rewrite. I'm abandoning it for the time being. Sorry if fans wanted more for that story. I also know that this goes against my saying I wouldn't abandon a story, but things happen, sorry.

I have also a few new stories. I have a Naruto / Young Justice crossover, I won't give away anything. I also might post my hodgepodge stories because you guys might find something that you could work with. I have also worked on a few of my other stories and hope to be publishing some chapters soon.
