It was his birthday next week, so she had to deliver the present soon or else it would come too late.

The present was perfect, she thought. Now if I could only get this card right.

She needed to write him something that told him she cared for him, that she missed him, that she thought about him every day. Something that seems so powerful, yet so tender to the one who read it. It needed to tell him how she felt, without become too sappy, otherwise it just wouldn't sound like her at all. It needed to give a memorable message, something he would keep close to him.

Temari sighed, this was supposed to be easy. What could she say? Where would she start?

She didn't really know what to do, but she had an idea. Taking the pen in her hand, she wrote.

A man arrived at the Nara household holding a small box. Shikamaru opened the door and the music inside could be clearly heard. He didn't want the party, but Ino insisted. Shikamaru thanked the man and went back inside. He opened the box; a little fan decorated with deer inside. He smirked, how he wished she could be here on this day. A little card laid underneath the fan. As he flipped it over he read the four words written on it. His smirk turned into a smile.

Love you Shika,

Temari.
