"Hey, Booth!" Cam said as she hurried to catch up with him.

"What's up, Cam?"

"What did you say to Perry last night?"

"What? Oh, it was nothing," Booth said with a shrug as they continued down the hall.

"Because he looked scared. Terrified, actually."

"I mean, I might have had a little discussion with him, you know, guy-to-guy."

Cam nodded, slightly amused. "As in, 'I'm the big FBI guy and you're just a lowly teenager?'"

Booth scoffed. "Okay, if you were just imitating me, you suck, and no, I just wanted him to know that I care about Michelle and that he shouldn't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do. She doesn't want to, right?" Booth asked nervously.

"What, have sex?" Cam asked, enjoying Booth's embarrassment.

"You know what? I don't want to know," he finished hastily, his steps quickening in an effort to flee before the conversation became even more uncomfortable.

"Booth!" Cam exclaimed, practically running to keep up with his pace. "Booth, just slow down!"

Booth sighed but did as requested.

"I just wanted to say…thank you for talking to him and being, well…Boothy."

Booth made a face as he looked at Cam. "Have you been talking to Bones?"

"Of course she has, Booth," Brennan said, joining them. "She's the boss. It's a necessity that she speak with me."

"No, Bones, I meant about that 'Boothy' thing."

"Yeah," Cam said, "he got all bristly when I said it."

"It's nothing to be irritated by, Booth. It's just a simpler way of saying that something you did was very in-character. That it was true to your form."

"So I'm predictable?" Booth questioned.

"There's a lot of good qualities that come with being predictable: stability, level-headedness, dependability…"

Cam chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest as she observed them.

"What's so funny?" Booth asked.

"Nothing's funny, per se. It's just really great to have both of you back. This whole argumentative/banter stuff used to be quite irritating, but we've all come to accept it. I might even venture to say that I missed it during those weeks you were both gone. I don't know how or why, but the back-and-forth stuff works for you. It's very…Boothy and Brennany," she finished with a smile.

"Brennany?" Brennan repeated.

Booth cracked a smile. "It sounds like you have a stuttering problem."

"Booth!" Brennan exclaimed, smacking his arm. "That wasn't nice!"

"What?" he replied defensively. "All I'm saying is that there's got to be something better than 'Brennany.'" After a moment, he snapped his fingers and broke into a larger grin. "I got it--'Bonesy!'"

Sensing that another Boothy/Brennany conversation was about to take place, Cam uncrossed her arms and thumbed over her shoulder. "I'm just gonna go…yeah."

And as she walked away, she shook her head and laughed to herself. They had remains to identify, awkward intern-of-the-week moments were coming with more frequency, and Booth and Brennan were in a heated discussion. Things were getting back to normal. It was very Jeffersoniany.
