"Now, 'arry, what is it you wanted me to be 'elping you with?" Hagrid asked with a smile.

"Well its this thing." Harry replied indicating the creature in his arms. It was a cooing, growling green creature, with spines. To Harry's mind it resembled the bastard love child of a cactus, a goblin, and a house elf. His mind refused to take that extra step to imagine such a conception with a shiver and he continued speaking with his large friend. "I'm the only one it seems to like, it's always cooing and purring at me. It growls at everyone else, and I swear the darned thing is either a hundred times more accident prone than Tonks, or a complete homicidal maniac. In just the last day I've shoved three people out from under falling objects, put out two fires and stopped a potion spill that could well have killed all of the third year Hufflepuff's."

"I can't just toss it out, the bloody thing is a menace. Without me watching it the entire castle would be rubble with this thing roaming free, but I just can't bring myself to turn it over to the Ministry. I just keep seeing McNair and that ax. Please tell me you know what this thing is and how to calm it down." Harry begged.

"I'd love to tell you, but I can't see 'noffing 'Arry." Hagrid reached a large hand carefully through the space where Harry appeared to be holding something gingerly. "That's odd. Even creatures with conditions on seeing them, like thestrals, can be touched, if you know where ta feel."

Harry quickly clamped a hand over the apparently invisible creatures mouth as it had smirked and was now attempting to bite Hagrid's curious fingers. Harry caught the mischievous glint in the things eye as it started trying to wiggle loose. There were just too many potentially hazardous things in Hagrid's hut to allow the creature loose. Harry quickly made his excuses to Hagrid, before darting out the door with a now squirming creature in his arms. Just as he walked into the castle, and before he had time for his eyes to adjust to the lack of light the voice of a decidedly amused Luna Lovegood met his ear.

"I didn't know you could see gravelings, Harry." She said before purring at the creature scrambling over Harry's shoulder in what could only be described as a fearful escape attempt. Before it could break free, Luna slide one finger under it's chin and scritched just so. The panicking creature calmed instantly, and instead, took on a dopey grin. "They usually don't appreciate being seen, but he seems to like you well enough. I bet it's because you control the Hallows. I mean you're not some lowly reaper, are you?"
