When Dee and Lee arrived at Ella's quarters they expected to have a long sit down with her about the latest dream she had. What they didn't expect was for her to announce that meeting was going to take place in the mess hall.

Galactica's mess hall was buzzing with activity. It seemed like the whole ship was having lunch at the same time.

"You sure you want to have this conversation here?" Lee asked looking around the crowded room.

"This is as good a place as any. Besides you're wife expressed that she was hungry and I do feel a bit peckish myself. If it makes you feel any better Major, there are tables way in the back that would give us more privacy." Ella said.

"It does." Lee said.

"Alright. Then why don't we all get something and meet in the back." Ella said

Lee grabbed his tray of food from the lunch line and headed towards the farthest table he could find. As he took his seat he saw Ella and Cottle making their way towards him while Dee was still trying to make her way through to the end of the line.

Lee watched as his poor wife tried to make her way to their table only to be blocked by well wishers and people trying to rub her round belly. Never one to be rude, Dee obliged each one to a free belly rub. When a small crowd started to gather around her Lee decided it was time to rescue his wife. He excused himself from the table and walked to where she was.

"Oh, Dee you look so beautiful. Motherhood so suits you." Race track said.

"Thank you, Race track."

"Yeah, Dee you have that glow that people always say mothers have." Gaeta said.

"You guys are good for a girls ego. Can I find you guys on the days I feel like I swallowed a blimp?" Dee laughed.

"Anytime." Gaeta said with a smile.

"Ok, everyone." Lee said snaking his arms around his wife waist. "Can I have my wife back please? She and my kids need to eat."

"Fine, I guess you can have her back. But, we are so having a girls night at Joe's." Race Track said

"Uh, no. Our Joe's days are over." Lee said.

"Speak for yourself, fly boy. I may not be able to drink but I can still have a good time. As long as I can waddle, I'll be there." Dee said.

"Ok, Waddles. Let's go before your food gets cold. We'll see you guys later." Lee said.

Cottle and Ella sat down next each to other and left the other seats open free for Lee and Dee.

"Sorry, for the wait. Everyone wants to touch the belly." Dee said.

"Nothing to apologize for my dear. Having a baby brings out the best in us all. It also lets people know that no matter what the circumstances life will go on."

Lee looked over to his wife who was now quietly eating. Her whole demeanor had changed after Ella spoke and he knew why. Dee already had enough on her shoulders. As if being pregnant with twins and having these frackin' dreams wasn't enough, now she was going to have some symbol of hope hoisted on her too? No. That was not happening.

"Look, before we go on and discuss what we came here for, there are somethings I need to get off my chest." Lee said.

Ella and Cottle placed their utensils down and gave Lee their full attention. When Dee was about to do the same thing Cottle stopped her.

"You eat. I know you missed a meal earlier so while your husband speaks, you'll eat. Doctor's orders."

"Husband's too." Lee kissing Dee on cheek.

Dee only nodded. She continued eating but suddenly felt very nervous about what her husband was about to say.

"Well Major, what is on your mind?" Ella asked

"I feel like I'm flying blind here. As I pilot I know that's a bad thing. To fly without knowing the terrain is just plain stupid and dangerous. One wrong move and your frakked. My wife. My children. They are on my mind. They are always on my mind. I worry about them and I worry for them. I need to know, no... I need to understand what is going on. Can you do that? Can you explain to me what is going on so I can help Dee? Give me something so I can stop feeling so helpless."

Ella looked at the young man before her and saw a mixture of emotions all over his face that broke her heart. All he wanted was answers and a way for him to help his wife and unborn children. She hated the fact the answers he wanted would only lead to more questions and make a more tense situation worse. The only thing she could do was try her best to help him understand.

"No one likes to feel as you so eloquently put feel as if they are "flying blind". Least of all when it involves loved ones. I understand your need for answers and frustration.." Ella was about to continue when she was cut off by a short tempered Lee.

"Understand? Understand?! I don't think you do. I don't think any of you do. Look, no disrespect. I just want to know what's going on with my wife. I don't want to hear about connections with chairs or any other inanimate objects. I just want the some frakkin answers now!" Lee said.

Cottle was about to come to Ella's defense when she felt him place a hand on his knew letting him know that she was alright. He then saw that there was no need to say anything because the look on Dee's face was enough to scare anyone with good sense.

"Lee, that's enough! You apologize right, now." Dee said. She couldn't be more mortified at her husbands behavior.

Lee looked at his wife and saw from her expression that he went too far. He knew she was upset with him and the last he wanted to do was add to any of the pressure his wife was already feeling. He watched her facial expression soften when he kissed her temple and whispered in her ear that he was sorry.

Ella took no offense to the young man's outburst of anger. She understood his worries and fears and knew that he was only interested in the welfare of his wife and children.

"Major, I understand your frustration all too well. Sherman here can attest to that. I know you want a better explanation than the one I tried to give you earlier to help Dee but it's very difficult to explain. I shall however do my best in answering any questions you have."

"Thank you, and I do apologize."

"No, need to apologize, Major. Water under the bridge. Your wife is one special lady so, I can understand the passion you have in trying to ensure hers and your children's safety."

"Yeah, she is. She and my children are my world." Lee said looking at his wife with a small smile.

"As they should be. Now, I believe you have questions that need answers."

"What happened in the conference room? Where did you two go?"

"It wasn't a where. It was a when."

"What do you mean when?"

"I mean that your wife didn't to a where, she and I went to when. Do you remember when I said that your wife was connected to the past, present, and the future? Ella asked

"Yes." Lee said.

"Well, when I say when, I mean the past. She and I traveled to the past. Through a link I created and then shared with her we went to the past."

Ella almost laughed at the look Lee was giving her. As if she just sprouted another head.

"How? You were sitting there the whole time." Lee said unable to hide his skepticism.

"Our bodies yes. Our consciousness is what was sent back."

"It's true, Lee. I know it's hard to believe but we were there. I was on Sagittaron. I was at a festival. The sights, the smells, the people, even the food was real. Lee, I had tufari! I even...I even saw.. me. I saw me as a child. I even talked to myself. I talked to my father." Dee said the last part with a lump in her throat.

Dee needed a moment to pull her emotions together and keep herself from crying. Thinking about her father and his smile and how he interacted with not only her but her younger self was bitter sweet. She wiped away the lone tear that managed to fall then took a deep breath and motioned to them that she was alright and it was ok to continue.

Once Lee saw his wife was ok he picked up right where they left off.

"But, how? That's what I don't understand. How did you do it?"

"The link allows us to travel to the past or any moment in time. You need only to concentrate on a particular moment and you're there."

"So, why that day? Why not the day of the attack so all of this could be averted?"

"Your wife asked the same question and I will tell you what I told her. The past cannot be changed. It's already set. And even if it could be, everything as you know it would change." Ella said

Lee felt a shiver go down his spine when Ella stressed the word everything. His hand immediately went to Dee's stomach. He knew this existence they were in now was pretty frakked up but if it meant that he would be sitting in it with his wife and children then he would go through this hell of an existence a thousand times to be with them.

"Ok. I get that we can't change the past but, what about the future? Why is Dee having these dreams of the future?

"First I need to know what she is dreaming. Are you ready to tell me, Dee?"

Dee sighed as she put down her fork. She didn't really want to talk about her dreams. Just thinking about them made her heart hurt.

"My dreams are like a puzzle. I'm only getting bits and pieces. Never the whole thing. They are so real. Like I'm seeing things as they happen. They are never the same. Always different. Well that's not entirely true. They all end the same way."

"Which is?" Ella asked.

Dee tried to say it. Her mouth wouldn't allow the words to come out. Saying them felt like it would make it true.

Lee looked at his wife and could see she was having a hard time and was almost on the verge of tears. So, he said the words he knew she couldn't.

"I die. I always die."

As soon as the words left his mouth Dee eyes could no longer hold back her tears. Lee pulled his wife into his arms and began soothing her with words of love.

"It's ok, Dee. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." Lee said while kissing his wife's forehead.

Ella looked at the young couple and sympathized with them. It was clear that these two loved it each and it broke her heart to see them go through all of this.

"Dee, I know it's hard and I'm sorry but I need you to finish telling me about your dreams. Start from the beginning."

Dee took a moment to collect herself before she relayed her dreams to Ella. When she described her dreams to Ella she tried to gauge Ella's reaction to them. Ella made no expressions so it was hard for her to tell if what she was saying was helpful or not. When she described her final dream she waited for Ella to speak.

Ella sat there and absorbed all of what Dee had to say. The more she listened to Dee the more her mind was taken back to a time where many young woman in her tribe suffered in the same way Dee had. It was clear after listening to Dee she knew what exactly was going on with her. She wished it wasn't true but the more Dee spoke the more it solidified what she had already suspected.

There was a long silence at the table and it started to get to Lee. He was about to say something when Ella spoke.

"Dee, I believe I know why you are having these dreams and why you are able to project yourself through time like me."

Dee thought she would be happy to finally hear the explanation as to why these things are happening. The look on Ella's face made her hesitant and fearful of what the next words out of Ella's mouth would be.

When Dee didn't ask Ella to go on Lee took it upon himself to ask the question of what was going on. In his rush to find the truth he missed the look of dread on Dee's face.

"Well, what's going on with my wife?"

Ella closed her eyes for a second and released a breath she had been holding.

"You're wife is indeed special Major, and now the last of her kind."

Lee was confused now.

"What are you talking about? She isn't the last of her kind. There is a whole ship full of Sagittarians and you left. So how can she be the last of her kind?"

"Yes, Major there are a few of us left but none as special and remarkable as your wife."

"Ella, you're scaring. Why do you keep saying I'm special? What are you afraid to say?" Dee asked

"My dear Dee, oh how I hoped and prayed that this would not be true."

Lee without even thinking put one arm around his wife and the other around her stomach as if he was trying to shield his children from whatever Ella was about to say.

"What are you trying to tell us?" Lee asked

"Dee, you are the holiest of holy among our people and when I say our people, I mean all of the 13 colonies. You are that which burns brightest to see through the dark veil of time. You are one with the universe and connected to all living things. You see what others can not see and what others are forbidden to see."

"No. Don't say it." Dee said softly."

"Child, not saying it won't make it any less true."

"Saying what? For Gods sake, tell me!" Lee said

Ella sighed and couldn't stop the tears that ran down her face as the words left mouth and she delivered the fateful news.

"Fate has chosen you, Dee. You're an Oracle and what you have been going through is just the beginning."

A/N: I'm back! Sorry I've been gone for so long. I've had some really bad writers block with my stories and real life has just been an emotional roller coaster. Today was a day where I felt like I could write so I just went with it. No promises on when the next time I will update but I will try to be better about it. If you are still with this story I thank you so much for sticking with me. Take care. Happy Reading and Happy Thanksgiving!
